Hi Everybody!
It's weekend - enjoy!
For Art Journal Journey, for the record,
I made a quick page, using a spare piece of painted paper and one of my homemade Nana stencils to accompany the song
'she wore an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini....',
a song written by Paul Vance with music by Lee Pockriss. It was sung by Brian Hyland in 1960. In the song, the girl doesn't want to come out of the water because her bikini is so small, but my bathing belle seems to be happy enough to parade in hers.
And for 99 faces, another doodle face - number 99 - I hope!
It was good to be out in the sun again, although the day started off with frost and mist. Spring seems to have caught up with us at last!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Another really fun page, love your nana bathing beauty. Great doodle face, too and wonderful spring photos. Enjoy your weekend, hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteGreat fun pages!

loving your spring blooms! I love her bikini and matching chair and a wonderful doodle too.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Valerie,
I remember that song. Its a happy song and your piece really happy. The nana looks like she is dancing on the beach. Probably to this song. I love the bird photo. And the flowers. Spring is coming- but we have some snow coming in the next few days. Hopefully, just flurries, but shall see. Happy Sunday! :) Erika
ReplyDeleteSorry about the snow, hope we don't get any over here!
DeleteLove your polka dot bikini, Valerie. Of course the pics are always wonderful to see as well.
ReplyDeleteHugs

Oh I love the bathing beauty in her itsy bitsy bikini. Your face should have a smile being surrounded with the moon and the stars or least a twinkle in the eyes. It amazes me how you draw them so quickly. Yea, the boats are so colorful and the spring photos make me smile. My first tulips are in bloom; a patch of white ones. Monday I start my new journey and will email you later in the week. Keep up with your walks and your drawing, Valerie. It is a joy for me to view.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
Great pieces, Valerie. hugs, Donna

I really enjoyed your choice of songs today and the way you showed how she was parading on the beach. She seems quite content in her body image.
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean you won't be sharing anymore faces for awhile? I think they are all lovely, but I suspect you are a bit tired and ready for a bit of a break.
There was a LOT of activity at the river yesterday, wasn't there? So glad you had a chance to get out and enjoy it before having to go to Phase 2 of boot camp next week. Hope your day is going well.
I have had such a smile and laugh seeing the Nana in her bikini, its a fantastic fun page Valerie. Love your 99th beautiful faces doodle and all the super photos today.
