Hi Everybody!
Just a short post this time, today ran away too quickly!
This is a spread in my new journal, with a 'spring' theme. This was not originally intended for a challenge, but it reminded me of the 'Spring, spring, spring' song in the film 'Seven brides for seven brothers', which was shown back in 1954. I made a mixed media piece with my two spring chickens who have evidently fallen totally in love with each other.
Linking to Art Journal Journey, for the record.
And some photos of today's breathtaking sunrise:
I feel better just because I came here today,, such beauty in all ways,,
ReplyDeleteYour love birds are adorable, what a wonderful idea. Gorgeous photos, too, you really have the loveliest sunrises. Good night, hugs, Sarah

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is one of my favourite films ever and I have a DVD of it to watch when I need an emotional fix. It has everything in it and I never tire of watching it.Not sure I can fit it in today as there is sport to watch--such a busy life I lead lol.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Yes, it was a fab film, my great aunt took me to see it, and afterwards we had ice cream sundaes in a cafe, a day I will never forget!

Those hand drawn and painted birds are SO very much cuter than the crazy birds rubber stamps out there. I love these and the little birds look like they are just right for each other.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunrise. You might have noticed how late I am getting here. I fell asleep while uploading today's post. Have a wonderful rest of Saturday.
Spring certainly has sprung! Love it, Valerie!
ReplyDeleteThose birds are so much fun. I think this playful album is a good inspiration for you. And yes, wow, what gorgeous sunrises. What a beautiful way to start your day. Hugs- Erika
ReplyDeleteNow I am singing - birds are popping up all over ... Love your birds - pretend and for real!
ReplyDeleteWell you know I am smiling and dancing all over. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. One of my all time favorite movies and boy did I ever fall in love with Russ Tamblyn. Of course I had to spend lots more time watching videos from the movie. My favorite video was "Barn Raising Dance". No wonder so many kids have a hard time today - they didn't grow up with wonderful and happy musicals.

Your birds are super cute! They look so cheerful - beautiful work. And what stunning sunrise images - fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAwww, what sweet birdies! I love them! Gorgeous photos too.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking is right; the sunrise you captured this morning is outstanding and so are the birds, especially the female all decked out in her finest. Love makes the world go round and the birds bring joy to so many of us. (Outside for me; no bird in the house.)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
Bright and spring-like post - glorious dawn! Made me smile.

Love your fun piece Val, I must admit that I don't know this song. Your photo's are really beautiful today xx
ReplyDeleteSuper love your love-birds as you might expect, it is just up my colourful birdie street.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that now we can watch moving pictures and songs, new and very old, as we wish, instead of queuing to get a seat at the Cinema (and go in half way through the film if that was when the seats became free).
I enjoyed watching the scene from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, a movie I saw so many years ago. Thank you for sharing this and the other beautiful photos.
