Hi Everybody!
It's time for Paint Party Friday again, and my mixed media piece is also meant for Art Journal Journey, for the record, and Moo Mania and More, music.
My A3 page has been gessoed, painted, collaged and stamped. I am sure some of you know this folk song. I started off with the newspaper cut-out of the young man and the globe, collaged more cut outs, and added various family photos . Then I filled in the rest with stamps (mostly from Lost Coast Designs) and a stencil of Mr Umbrella Man. The photos are members of my family, old and new, and I'm there, too.
Sunrise is always one of my fave times:
And then I had a nice walk over the market, which takes place twice a week
This is where I often drink cappuccino after my physiotherapy:
Outside the butcher's:
Eggs and dairy products:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I always loved this song, we used to sing it at Guides. Love the page you made and all you put on it. Wonderful photos of the sunrise and market, too. Hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteLovely page, so much depth! I'd be at the market twice a week thank you!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding piece! Extremely clever.
ReplyDeleteI love the places you visit. So cheerful.
A wonderful mix of characters and I like the way you tied them into the lyrics of this folk song - I remember it from my childhood. It's just come back to me that this was a song in a music book I had when I was learning to play the guitar - I would be 10 years old or thereabouts.

what a beautiful spot to live,, its lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour journal pages are wonderful!!
I remember that song. I haven't even thought of it in years. Love your piece. I especially like the old and new photos. And I especially love seeing people sitting outside at the cafe. Today my phoebe bird was back at their nest under the eaves of our outbuilding, and I had a whole flock of blackbirds, which surely means spring is here. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat total fun, thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat page. I wish I could come visit you. Your photos are so inviting.
ReplyDeletetolles art journal zum Thema musik!
ReplyDeleteCurte page...sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteYour coffee place, market look so nice...I miss Europe! :) (we are up here, like in an island, too far away!)
Happy ppf!
I had to think about that song, but I do remember it. I enjoyed seeing photos of both old and new, as well as the market. It's amazing that this market is so accessible, but you would never find it here in the states, because we put so many restrictions on and laws prohibiting things not controlled. The plants and flowers would be OK, but eggs, dairy products, and baked goods have to be inspected in order to be sold like that. You are SO lucky you can walk there and get fresh produce and such. It's beautiful surroundings, too. Love where you drink your cappuccino!
ReplyDeleteThe booths here are always controlled, and all of the booths selling fresh projects are refridgerated and have to be kept to a high standard of hygiene. The market controllers go round the markets and people who do not comply with the rules get fined and lose their licences.
DeleteThat song is not one of my favorites, but I love the work it has inspired you to do: so joyful!
ReplyDeleteAnd the high spring you seem to have there!
Eine ganz tolle Seite wow.. das Lied hab ich jetzt im Kopf. Ganz tolle Bilder vom Markttreiben ... wunderschön!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF Happy AJJ!
Einen schönen Freitag!

DeleteGreat artwork for the song! I think that was one everyone had to learn at one time or another, lol! Your sunrise is beautiful and so is the outdoor market! All your photos make me want to just pack up and move there, altho' I don't think that will ever happen. So I will just enjoy your photos and your art as often as I can. You bring so much beauty out in both. Hugs, Rasz

Valerie, I love, love the piece with He's got the whole World in his Hands. Each area of it is really special and shows you put a lot of love into it. Your sunrise photos are super. Could I please have permission to try my hand at painting the second one where the tree is the dominant feature and the sun is not quite up?
ReplyDeleteOf course you can, have fun!
DeleteI love your song page Valerie, all those images are fabulous and I said hello to the young you as well, Great photos, your markets always look so inviting.
