Hi Everybody!
The week is flying by, I ask myself everyday where the time goes and why
I never manage to get as much done as I would like to.
For Art Journal Journey, for the record, and for Moo Mania and More, music I have another hybrid page. The background is a photo from San Francisco, and I used 2 different Frida stamps to remind us of the song, 'If you are going to San Francisco'. The song was written by John Phillips of the Mamas and The Papas, and sung by Scott McKenzie to promote the Monterey Pop Festival of 1967.

This pigeon seems to have flowers round her head, although it is just the red catkins from the poplar tree:
The magpie is also a frequent visitor on my balcony:
The pigeons enjoy sunbathing in the last rays of the evening sun:
And some close ups of my mini living-room garden:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
You have made me very happy with your choice of song today! Love the collage with Frida. And the photos are first class again. Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThe pigeon looks good with the "flowers" in his hair, it's a great photo and fun just after the song (which will now be running through my head for a while). I do like these wood pigeons, they are such gentle birds.
ReplyDeleteYour "garden" looks lovely, I especially like the blue flowers, a gorgeous shade of blue.
Love the pages Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThe hyacinths look gorgeous and I'm sure they will smell beautiful.

lovely page and beautiful bird photos!
ReplyDeleteAnother fun piece today Valerie. I love the song, and I love the Freida stamps too. They work really well with your image and topic. Great photos today too. I find it interesting how the birds in German and the birds here in the US are similar but not the same. Your goldfinch and ours are a little bit different, as are the doves. We don't have magpies here at my house, but I've seen a lot of them out in the western US, and they too are similar but not the same. I know they evolved in different places which would make them different, but interesting how the names are the same even though there is an ocean between us. OK, if that makes sense then I am not so out of it (I had some dental work today and have been taking some meds for the discomfort). Hugs-Erika

Frida looks lovely in San Francisco. It's a great way to honor her and the challenges. Wonderful art.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how wonderful your place smells with the hyacinths. And of course, the beauty of the colorful flowers must be very inspiring.
Had to laugh at the comment you just left me. Wait till you see how far off my guillotine cutter is, especially when I tried putting two decorated pages together with glue. So, I don't seem to measure well at all! And to think I was a certified metrologist in a previous life (metrology is the science of measurement).
ReplyDeleteMeasurement sure is a science, and one that I never learned!
DeleteLove the song it was one of my Mum's favorite songs. Your page is gorgeous as are all your pics do you have a super duper camera. x
ReplyDeleteAlways loved that song. Great page. Oh My! That pigeon really is a giant amongst birds! No wonder your feeders are empty. Nice to have such a lovely reminder that spring is just around the corner. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteOMGosh I haven't heard that piece of music for years...fabulous. Love the gorgeous photos too.
ReplyDeleteThis is one gorgeous creation, love everything about it and very creative.xx

Song from a throwback era. So popular when I was in high school. Nice pages. xox
ReplyDeleteA beautiful page Valerie, I remember the song very well - happy times.

ReplyDeleteWelch wunderbare Flower-Power-Collage hast du dazu kreiert, super! Liebe Grüße von Ulrike
Your pictures are always fabulous - look at the colors on the pigeon. And the magpie will not be over shadowed. I do not think I have ever seen better flower pictures. You really have a good camera and you really know what you are doing. You two make quite a team.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this month I will have time to do an art journal page. You are so creative and come up with so many ideas - I still laugh about your "into the woods" pages. I am going to attempt to do some catching up here. You are so prolific that it is hard to keep up with you when life is normal. And I am afraid to say, even though you just had surgery - you are a heck of a lot more active than I am. You are staying well so that is a good thing!!!

Ah, you've brought spring inside. I love the first photograph of the bird in the foreground and the flowers behind it. And I didn't realize magpie's had blue tails.
ReplyDeleteThe song really takes me back....
Hugs
Ahhh... the MEMORIES! A blast from the past for sure and you've done it well ♥ Beautiful photos too that make me smile. I rarely have blooming plants in the house I think I just may have to change that. Our weather has cooled a bit here again with hard freezes predicted for tonight and tomorrow night :( SOB!
ReplyDeleteFun & fabulous journal page, I now have the song in my head. Your flowers are gorgeous. Lucky you to see tulips outside, we have to wait another month. Take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteLove how you have used Frida in todays fabulous journal page. The flowers look beautiful I can almost smell some lovely perfume from them.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx

ReplyDeleteTolle Werke, Valerie, den Song liebe ich sehr.
