New York and more

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, architecture, I made another A3 mixed media page, using paint, collage, stamping etc.
New York is really a place where you  see architecture dominating the views, and although I mostly prefer a quieter environment,  it is a wonderful place.
I gave Miss Liberty a new place to show her off better.
The quote is from Pete Hamill.

We had wonderful weather again, so good for walking.

I was pleased to see that they have really started doing some much needed repairs at Schloss Kalkum - wonders never cease!

I love the watery reflections here:

The cows had me humming 'lazy Sunday afternoon'

Autumn is showing its beautiful colours:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Great New York page. I love how you added in Lady Liberty. New York is a great city, and maybe in 2016 I need to go there again since its been like 12 years since my last visit. (And it is only 5 hours away so what is my excuse for a little weekend get away?) I think it is because I do prefer quiet places (like you). Your castle photos are gorgeous too. Well all the photos are great and I think there is nothing better than a field of cows-especially when they are lounging on a beautiful afternoon. Hope your week is starting off in a good way! Hugs!

  2. I confess I LOVE New York. I love to visit, but would never live there. It's a beautiful city so vibrant and full of energy, but after awhile, you just want to slow down a bit. Don't know if you've ever been or not, but you can walk from one end of Manhattan to the other end. I know because I did in the five days I stayed there the first time.

Loved the photos of Schloss Kalkum. Looks like some serious construction is going on. And I liked the first photo you showed of it, too. Mostly because I adored the reflections you captured. Like I said before, it looks like it would be hard to make repairs since it sits directly on the water.

Have a super day and beginning of your week.

    1. I stayed in Brooklyn for 6 months back in the 1960s, and visited a few times since then. I loved being there, but I need peace and quiet more!

    SUPER!
    Einen guten Wochenstart Liebes!

  7. Fantastic photographs Valerie with a real show stopper for me--the bridge and the reflections in the water.

Terrific page and a great place for the statue of Liberty. I am scared of New York when I see it films so would be petrified if I went there I imagine.

    Have a great day

    Love Chrissie xx

  10. I'm sure Miss Liberty is enjoying her new view of New York. The way you have made the copper coloured heart really sets off the scene.

  16. Genius again... the Statue of Liberty looks like she belongs there with the NY buildings - wow. What a wonderful page! The heart just pulls it all together perfectly. Oh and I know this is crazy but your first cow picture made me laugh. They are so close together that they look like one cow with two heads - conjoined at their asssets!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the sunrise and the leaves too!! Have a great week sweet Valerie. j.

  17. Good afternoon Valerie... hope its good and your weathers nice - as those sweet looking cows are sitting down - isn't that suppose to mean its going to rain? - it has been here today - perhaps they are psychic and it was meant for me instead :)
Fantastic piece for the architecture theme! What a great quote - certainly sums New York up nicely.
Lovely photos all with autumnal colours - even the buildings and cows were those sort of shades.

  23. New York, New York! Everyone should experience New York and the hustle and bustle of a busy city. Love your page today, Valerie. I enjoyed New York when I was there on a quick visit in the early 90s. Living in a large city is not my choice either. I prefer the smaller towns and viewing photos of your area, even the cows, is hard to beat. Fall is definitely here with leaves blowing out into the streets and all over the lawns in our neighborhood. Enjoy the warm fall weather.
    Hugs,
    C
