Halloween architecture and more

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, architecture, and of course for Halloween, I made another A3 mixed media page. The central part is one of the photos I took at the castle on Sunday, and I added a few little flying creatures to it. I painted the edges of the page with a mix of green, brown and orange, and added some die-cut and textile leaves. The tree and fence are TH die-cuts, and were painted and distressed with DI. The little book of spells can be opened and closed. This was a fun make!

And here are some more photo impressions from Kettwig:

On the way home we visited a little farm, where you could buy eggs, home-made jams, apples, potatoes etc. The produce is in the porch of their little house, you weigh your apples, count out your eggs etc and put the money in the letter box. I love these little trust shops. They were also selling home made Schnapps, but anybody who wanted that had to ring the bell and prove they were over 18 before they could be handed a bottle!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. as always, I love your photo walks - that shoe is a novelty. Great idea to use that castle photo in your artwork. Love how you have extended the leaves out beyond the photo.

  7. People in your country are so trusting. If that were to happen in the states, someone would come along and steal all the eggs, jams, and money!

I've heard of the cow jumping over the moon, but never the cat sitting on the sun! This made me laugh. Really clever use of that image as a face, too. And of course, I really enjoyed more of the photos of Kettwig. I especially liked the view from where you were looking down, and the shoe on the building. Really gorgeous autumn atmosphere, too.

  8. Stunning photographs and the star for me was the big shoe--brilliant

Terrific page-you are so good at Halloween projects. Does the Spell Book have anything that mends teeth please--we are both off to see the dentist again today so that will be every day this week so far,

    Have a great day

    Love Chrissie xx

    1. If it did I would have used it instead of spending so much time and money at the dentist's in the past weeks!

  21. Fun to look at too. Thanks for a glimpse into the book of spells, I am going to try that one, haha!
Why are your villages and streets always so clean? Do you carry a brush to clean up before you take your photos? (I actually know a photographer who does just that, he's even cleared a beach first).
And that door, my goodness, it's tremendous.
