Hi Everybody!
Hope your weekend is going well.
For Art Journal Journey, through my window, I have another A3 mixed media page. I used a background page from my stash which I placed in the middle of an A3 gessoed page. I added more colour with acrylics and chalks. The moon was painted onto a separate page, fussy cut and collaged, and the bird is a Dina Wakley stencil. I carried on the pattern of the floor at the bottom to build it more into my page. The group of ladies with their cards was cut from one of my old magazines from 1899 and collaged. Mr Umbrella man seemed to be just right to brave the storm, so got centre place on my page.

Today the weather was a little better, the storms seem to have died down for the time being. The trees and plants are showing more and more signs of autumn, and the horses were wearing raincoats.
In the square by the Basilica Saint Swidbert was watching over things as always:
In the evening we had a short glimpse of blue skies behind the clouds:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Interesting journal page today. I like how it had a lot of meaning, and how the images work together even though they are all so different. What is your old magazine like? I bet it is interesting to see how different (and how similar things) are between that time and now. Nice photos too, things are starting to look a bit like fall, aren't they? Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt,s a large, illustrated magazine made for women, with patterns for sewing and knitting, fashions, stories etc.
DeleteSo which came first, the art, or the quote? Whichever, the "players" were most appropriate. Yes, I was in AWE.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read the horses were wearing raincoats. Then I kept scrolling and saw you were serious! But, I'm still laughing!
Your leaves are truly starting to turn, unlike here, where everything is still wearing shades of summer. Those leaves and autumn looking flowers are quite inviting and enjoyable.
Yes, when it's cold or wet the horses wear coats - they are outside from April till end of October on the meadow, and get looked after very well!
DeleteA large window on your page design today, very nice work. I didn't know horses wore raincoats sometimes. Lovely photos, fall is well underway!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page, love how you continued the painting, and the UM and quote fit very well, Have a great week, hugs, Sarah

It's part of the castle ruins.

ReplyDeleteAwesome sauce 3D image play on this design. The umbrella man is in the perfect spot and your checkered floor design lends such drama to this LO. That quote is perfect for this and something to think about. Wowzers on so many levels! Hugz. ~Niki
