Hi everybody.
I have made another journal spread for the theme of light and dark at AJJ. I have once again used figures - this time masculine ones - on a mixed media background, painted with acrylics and using some sequin waste to add texture. The figures have been sketched with charcoal, and more colour added with pastels.
The quote I have used is from Martin Luther King.
The quote I have used is from Martin Luther King.
I went walking again at Schloss Kalkum, my fave, rather dilapidated castle, and had fun watching the ducks, and the reflections and light on the water. I am sure Suze Bain will tell me again that I am quackers, and all I can say in my own defence is - yes, I am - and proud of it! We have had a wonderful and very colourful autumn this year, and I am filling myself up with all the loveliness before it disappears.
Have a great day you all, take care, and thanks for coming by!
Love that you have drawn the figures and in charcoal, they look fabulous. Great pages and quote. The autumn colours have definitely held the rich, vibrant coats this year. Beautiful photos Valerie.

I spent hours with those ducks, it was such a magical day there, so glad you like them too!
DeleteBeautiful journal pages, very masculine and strong! And the photos are a dream, as always. Just got back from the dentist here with R, she woke in the night with pains, poor thing! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeletelovely pages, beautiful background. It does look beautiful there right now.
ReplyDeleteWow, very beautiful pages, wonderful artwork, I love the texture, design & colours :) Your photos again are gorgeous, you still have leaves & colour! Here no leaves, a little snow and dreary, the sun left us again. Have a super day, Shirleyx
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the most colourful autumn we have had in years! But today it's cold and dismal here, too!
DeleteFascinating pages, Valerie, very original. Your photographs just get better and better, I particularly like the pink castle with the duck and the colourful autumn leaves, the one with the three ducks and the last one. Our autumn is not particularly colourful, it's a bit on the yellow side, but it is a very extended autumn and some trees are still hanging on to their leaves.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages, love the colors. Your walk was beautiful today, the ducks were lovely and so were all the beautiful colors you captured. ~Diane
ReplyDeleteLovely place to walk...We too have ducks to watch and they are so amusing. Nice sketching, quite wonderful. xox
ReplyDeleteWell Valerie, I've heard of a mother hen but you must be a mother duck! Xx
ReplyDeleteQuack, quack!
DeleteAnd speaking of birds, I had Christmas lunch today with my sewing ladies and now I'm lazing on the sofa like a stuffed turkey. Your journal is fabulous BTW. Xx
ReplyDeleteValerie, this journal spread has to be a favorite for me. I love it!
ReplyDeleteYour autumn photos continue to capture the beautiful colors and the ducks too. Gorgeous shots.
Hugs,

We ducks have to stick together! Did you sketch those images yourself? They are amazing and I love them. These pages are gorgeous - not too much - just enough! Real work of art with amazing colors! Enjoyed our walk (I can pretend can't I?) All of our Autumn colors are gone although the temps are quite mild.
