Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Today I have another feathery piece meant for Neet's fur or feathers challenge at AJJ. It's  an A3 piece made with diluted acyrl colours and acryl ink, and some acryl pens for the dots:

Some thinkies/funnies:

(Yet) Another sunrise:

And some of our feathered friends, including Canadian Geese for David!

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Love your spotty birds. The feathers are really lovely. I like that touch. If I lived where you live. With that beautiful sunrise every morning, I'd probably be getting up much earlier than I already do. Have a great weekend. Deb

  5. More beautiful sunrises, thanks for sharing.
A lovely journal page again too. I love the spotted birds and their feathers that have fallen below, Also the background to the birds with your diluted acrylic colours. It reminds me of the days dad and I used to go whinberry picking and mum made a pie and served it with cream. The colours the fruit made with the cream is a fond memory and your colours have brought that back to me.
Thanks also to the funnies/thinkies - love the cat's face.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  6. I was sure I had caught up, because I had seen your Friday post a few hours ago. Now I see you have weekend post. I can't seem to ever catch up!

Those birds are wonderful and the feathers are great, too. I really like how you drew those birds. This is very clever. It's another great entry for Neet's theme at AJJ.

Love those sunrises, but will never love seeing Canadian geese. They will surely take over the world one of these days. Have a super weekend, dear Valerie.

  8. Good morning, Valerie: This post garners special merit because it is pretty much filled with birds. What a great idea Neet had, to come up with fur and feathers as a topic; it is self-evident that it should be extended for a week! There is so much scope. Perhaps one day soon when you are gazing out your window at the sunrise, one of those special birds of Balconia-by-the-Rhine will fly past your window and sing to you in greeting. What a fine way to greet the day. Your inspiration and appreciation will be so complete you'll resist the temptation to go back to bed. Instead you will put on a pair of your funky shoes and march (okay shuffle) down to the Rhine to spend time with those gorgeous CANADA Geese. Shall I send you the words and sheet music for our national anthem to be sung while gazing upon their perfection, all the while taking great care to avoid their copious donations of poop. Standing to attention, hockey stick in hand is the recommended protocol. Be sure to have someone on hand to take pictures. Ever your biggest fan from the True North Strong and Free. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Hi David, I can hear your anthem, 'O Canada' resounding in my mind as ai read your words in praise if your flying national bird. Here it is renowned for is beauty and hated for the poop, as you said! I love Neet's theme, and have been enjoying making journal pages for her. My special balcony blackbird visits every day, and hops up and down till he gets something. And hoc keyy - I usedx to LOVE playing hockey at school and college, and in the 80s and 90s I played in a ladies team, and it was fun. Today I'm going out to visit my friend and wil wear my funky red shoes with silver trim, yessssssssss! But beforehand I will enjoy another cup of coffee! Have a great weekend, BIG hugs to you and Miriam!

  10. Lovely birds on this piece Valerie. I like those spots a lot! And I like those feathers you created too. I think your two spotted birds must be a rare variation of albino birds-smile. But then the variety you see in feather colors is always amazing- as your bird photos show. And you do have wonderful sunrises from your balcony. I hope you have a wonderful and artful weekend. Here it is really cold this morning and last night. And I am not turning on the heat with the cost of it just yet so I look like something strange in 3 layers and a winter hat. Smile. Hugs-Erika

    1. Thanks Erika. The birds are once more exclusive to Balconia-by-the Rhine! I love sunrise, and the sun always wakes me up, but mostly I crawl back into bed again afterwards. I visited a friend this afternoon, and we needed blankets! Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Valerie
