Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a good weekend. We're still enjoying cool and rainy weather here, so lovely!
Today I have the last (for now!) of my moon ladies, I need to start on new themes! This was once again hard to photograph because of the metallic paint I used. As always, it's an A3 sheet painted with acrylics:
When I showed this baby owl on my blog recently, Neet asked me if I could make one of my hybrid pieces using it. So here, specially for Neet, a journal page assembled from 2 photos, a mouse image and a digital frame. I am linking to Neet's fur or feathers challenge at AJJ:
Some thinkies/funnies:
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Valerie, loving your art, especially your owl. great memes too Happy weekend hugs from the lake Kathy
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy, happy weekend to you, too!
DeleteBeautiful page and hybrid piece. Thanks for the thinkies
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, hugs!
DeleteI always enjoy visiting your blog, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteLove your art and funnies 💛💚💙
Have a great weekend !
Thanks Veronica, you, too! Hugs!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I overslept this morning, little S woke me up beause she was hungry! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, hugs to all!
DeleteYour artwork is lovely again as ever. I know exactly what you mean about the difficulties of photographing metallic paints. Have you ever thought about making a short video? I did that on my blog, moving the painting around, and it really captured the shimmery quality of the metallic paint. Have a great weekend, Deb!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! That'a great idea about making a video, I will try that next time I have metallics. Have a great weekend, take care, hugs!
DeleteYour lady today is very dramatic, Valerie. I am not familiar with the difficulties of photographing metallic paint, but you have done a great job it seems to me. It is so true that art is the basis of human experience. Before Lily was able to sing she would hum little tunes to herself, or maybe gurgle them would be a better description, but they were coming from within and had cadence, and she would smile. Now she will talk your head off! The weekend is here - enjoy! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteHi David! Yes, art is the really the basis of human experience, even tiny tots sing and dance and enjoy it. Yes, the music of kids is sometimes strange, but you have to start off somewhere! And that's it, it comes from within. That is so important! I can imagine how much she talks these days. She looks like a little girl, not a baby anymore. Have a fabulous weekend! BIG hugs!
DeleteLove your lady. I had no idea some of your portraits were on A3 paper - wow, I am impressed even more now. Love this one, bet she looks extra special in her metallic colours.
ReplyDeleteOh Valerie, I am so honoured that you made a journal page using that cute little owl because I had mentioned I would love to see one. You have certainly done it proud and I just love the page, all the flowers and grasdses are lovely, it really is fabulous. The owl is so cute and you have included a little tiny field mouse to keep her company. An absolutely brilliant page, I love it so much.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet. I always work on A3 paper - unless it's a tag, of course! Glad you like 'your' journal page. I love that little mouse, and try to put her in whenever I can! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
DeleteSuch a fab lady, loving your design! That little owl for Neet is super cute, it really made me smile, he looks so cheeky ...lol 😉. The funnies are great too! Thanks for the smile and happy weekend! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo, have a great weekend, take care! Hugs!
DeleteSo it's not the man in the moon, but the woman in the moon. She's awesome. Cute owl page, too. Have a great weekend

ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! It's so good to have rain again after months of drought.
DeleteThis is another lovely moon lady, Valerie. All those dots look like some beautiful stars. And that metallic hair glows like an almost full moon. And I think Neet was right to ask you to use that adorable baby owl image. The page came out great, and that little owl makes me smile. I hope you're having a great weekend. hugs-Erika

DeleteI love your Owl art a lot. Here's to cool weather! I'll drink to that. Most definitely.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pieces Valerie! Your moon lady is stunning, and the look on the owls face is priceless. It's gone from Summer here to Winter, who knows what happened to Autumn lol. Take care and have a very happy week, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteSame here Sue, but I like the cold better than the heat! Hugs!
DeleteHi Valerie, another beautiful lady. The weather here is changeable but still quite sunny during the day though cooler now in the evening but not good for taking photographs. The UK is such a small island yet the weather can be so different depending on where you are. The little owl is so cute but the calf is beautiful. Happy crafting, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteYes, that's true. Here the weather in Germany is also different everywhere. I grew up in London with lots of rain, flooding - we were near the docks - and smog but we only ever had snow once. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
DeleteI'm sorry to have taken so long to visit. Friday I spent most of my day filling out questions for possible jury duty. Saturday I got sick from the heat when I went to an art fair, and I was so sick I don't even remember Sunday. Today I watched every minute of the Queen's funeral. I'm here now, though and LOVE your beautiful moon lady. She is really special. So is the owl that you created just for Neet. It is beautiful and I know she feels honored. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us honoring Neet's theme at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteCats got a Lot of attention in the funnies, thinkies today. Loved them.
Thanks Elizabeth. I wasy very sick over the weekend, too, didn't get anything done. I watched Tv and saw the Funeral, too. Very moving! Hugs, Valerie
DeleteThanks Jeanie, have a great, new week!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie! Just checking in to see how you are doing! Your art is absolutely beautiful, as always. I just love your cool and creative moon lady, and your owl page is so adorable. And I'm happy to hear that you are having cooler weather and rain, too. In addition, your memes really made me smile! Take care! Hugs, Sharon
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sharon. Still having a lot of helath problems, spent the whole weekend and Monday in bed, but today I feel a bit better. Have a great week, hugs!
