Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at TIOT and our theme is
EMBOSSING.
As usual you can use any medium you choose, as long as you follow the challenge theme.
I made 2 mixed media tags and the flowers were embossed with structure paste through a stencil. I did a lot of sewing on the tags, my machine has been repaired! The sentiments are from Tim Holz:
If you put them together it looks almost like one piece!
As always you have 2 weeks to link to us and
We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
And we are also starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday. This time our lovely and talented Pinky is hosting and her theme is books/ bookpages. Pinky has made some wonderful tags for ispiration, do take a look, and I hope to see you joining in! This is my tag:
Some thinkies / funnies
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Beautiful embossing Valerie. These 2 pieces came out great and I like all the texture between the embossing and the stitching. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, have a great week, hugs!
DeleteLovely embossing, Valerie. I love how the two go so well together. And of course, sewing is the real magic on these tags. They are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth. I was so happy to be able to do some sewing again. Hugs!
DeleteLovely pages and enjoyed the thinkies
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, have a great week, hugs!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Hope you are feeling a bit better today, I'm sorry you were so ill at the weekend. Hope this week goes better for you. We had a quiet weekend, which I enoyed, the kids were all with Leah, so I was able to read and put my weary feet up! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a quiet weekend, I'm sure you needed it! Hugs to all!
DeleteYour tags are lovely, Valerie. They would make very attractive bookmarks. Miriam has made quite a few over the years, mostly as gifts for friends, and some of them are little works of art. Naturally I have a few too. At the last Christmas before COVID she sold them at the meeting of our nature club and donated the funds to the club, and did quite well. People still appreciate homemade items as a counterbalance to all the cheap dross coming in from China. When I buy secondhand books I quite often find a bookmark in them, or old receipts from items purchased, sometimes for the book itself. A historian would love it! Today I will be leading my regular Tuesday group on a walk through the woodlands in search of migrants. It won't be long before the neotropic migrants will all have departed, with northern species moving in here for the winter. The temperature is still in the mid twenties which is ridiculous for late September. Have a great week. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteThanks David! I love handmade things, too, so much better than all of those cheap and soulless pieces being poured into our lives. I still have the lovely bookmark you and Miriam sent me, and I love it!. Had a bad weekend here, I was very sick again with a high temperature. Feel better today but need to take things a bit more slowly in the next few days. I have a little scrapbook full of the items found in books, such fun to find them. Have fun on your wandering today, hope you find the birds you want to see. Have a great, new week, BIG hugs, Valerie
