Hi Everybody!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Here it was hot and humid again, but not as bad as last time! I have been trying to clear up some of my stash and get my table ready to use again, but I still have a few layers to go before I can see the table top!
This evening we are beginning a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time I am hosting. My theme is 'vintage'. As always, you have 2 weeks to join us, and tags of all formats are welcome. Hope to see YOU there. Our challenge goes live at 9 p.m. this evening.
My tag was made with some left over designer paper glued onto recycled card. The burlap and other pieces were all scraps from my stash, the little girl is an image from gecko Galz:
And then I magicked it onto a journal page and am joining Mia's butterfly challenge at
AJJ:
Today is also
Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit here.
It's good to be able to drink my cappuccino at the Rhine again:
Pineapple upside-down cake - help yourselves, there's plenty there:
And a few pics from town and from my balcony:
The pavement is being dug up for new drainage, and I was pleased to see that all of the trees had been protected to prevent accidental damage:
I went into the Basilica to light a candle again for a friend:
My herbs are doing very well:
This strange plant is a juncus spiralis, and is growing very fast. No, it's not usually on the armchair, I just needed more light to take a photo:
And a funny from FB:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Great tag and journal page Valerie. I'm so happy to hear you are able to have your cappuccino at the Rhine again! Great photos and good to see your herbs doing well. The juncus spirali is so cool, I want one! You cracked me up with that last one from Facebook, it's SO true lol! Have a great week my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha. I fell in love with that crazy plant when I saw it! Have a great week! Hugs!
DeleteA stunningly beautiful tag, gorgeous colours and as always your design is amazing. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, have a great week!
DeleteLovely vintage tag. Glad you can have your cappuccino at the Rhine again. Love that juncus spiralis.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. Glad you like my crazy plant! Have a great week!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Love your post today, the tag is really gorgeous, and I love how you 'magicked' it into the journal page! Great photos, too. That last one made me hoot with laughter! Have a great day, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! Hope all is well with you and yours, have a great week! Hugs to all!
DeleteLovely layered vintage tag Valerie she sits happily amongst those journal blooms, great theme. That cappuccino must taste even nicer sipping it by the Rhine. Your balcony is blooming, i'm never without herbs in my little haven, so calming.
ReplyDeleteHugs for the week ahead, take care Tracey xx
Thanks Tracey! Cappuccino always tastes good, but there's something special about looking at the Rhine. Herbs are always great to have.
DeleteCongratulations on hosting Tag Tuesday, and your own tag is a great start to a successful fortnight ahead. Some places here have stopped putting the little biscuits in the saucer, some only put them if you ask. I miss them. Thanks for your kind comments on my ICADs.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Deb.
Thanks Deb! Tag Tuesday is a group blog, there are five of us and we take it turns to choose a theme and play host. It's good to work with others. I love those little biscuits, and they are still offering them here, although the prices have gone up slightly. Your ICADs were truly GORGEOUS! Have a great day!
DeleteGecko Galz and magicking and ICADS! You guys have a language all of your own, unknown to the rest of the world, a sort of passport to a closed society. You probably have incantations and secret ceremonies too. I bet you have special handshakes when you meet! Good morning High Priestess, Valerie. I am very pleased to note that once again you are enjoying cappuccino along the Rhine. What better place to have it after all? Be sure to ask for the mini biscottis those cheapskates have stopped including, unless by request. I would make sure that Juncus spiralis is nowhere near you when you sleep. It looks like it could sidle over in the night and strangle you! Shades of a triffid there! It is thriving in the steamy conditions of your apartment. Overnight we had gentle rain here and when I opened the door this morning all smelled fresh and earthy. Quite wonderful really. It was the kind of rain that permeates the ground and gets down to the roots of thirsty plants, and the world looks new. I hope you get some of the same in Balconia-by-the-Rhine. Until the next times, hugs Nd kisses. David
ReplyDeleteHi David! Yes, we have a language all of our own. We have JPs and ATCs, PCs, A3 and A4 and of course A5, digis, and countless colours and potions like rusting agents and oxides, and equipment made by TH, Crafty Individuals, Inkessentials, inkylicious, archival and gelatos, just to name a few....But no special handshake, we mostly have painty fingers so we just hug each other! I think it's disgraceful not to give biscottis any more, that#s England for you! The juncus spiralis really looks rather fantastic, and it needs to have wet feet or perhaps roots and lots of sun. we had lots of rain yesterday evening, things do smell so fresh afterwards. Have a wonderful day, take care, beware of magic plants! Hugs to you both!
DeleteLove the new challenge and tag Valerie. The burlap adds such great texture. And it does work great in a page too. Beautiful idea Valerie. I'll take a piece of cake too. Yummy! Pineapple upside cake is delicious. But how nice to be able your have your coffee out again. And I have that curly grass. Isn't it a fun plant? Have a wonderful early T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, enjoy your cake! Yes, that curly plant is fun indeed. Have a great day!
DeleteI love that meme at the end about who rides in the boat and who owns the boat. So true! Creepy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fonda, creepy indeed!
DeleteIt feels productive to use up your stash, doesn't it? I didn't realize you were so close to the water. That's terrific. And your herbs are looking fabuolous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! Have a great week!
DeleteVintage is always a winner :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great spot for a cuppa! A beautiful view, and I'll bet the people-watching is good there. I haven't had pineapple upside-down cake in forever, so yes, please I'll have a piece. Looks delicious :)
The sky views from your balcony are nice! Happy T Day
Thanks! Enjoy your cake! People watching is always fun!

Thanks Alison, Hope you have a great week!
DeleteHi there, a great vintage tag and journal page. I have some crafting to catch up on as I've been spending a lot of time in my garden recently. I enjoy catching up on your fabulous photos of daily life. I haven't had pineapple upside down cake in years, wow, looks delicious and brings back memories. Your Facebook picture did make me laugh and is so true. I hope you have a good week and I must join in a tag challenge soon as I do enjoy making them. Take care, Michelle x
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, good to see you around again! I Love pineapple upside down cake, an old favourite. Hope to see you at Tag Tuesday! Hugs!
DeleteI'm in sheer love of that tag It is stunning. I love vintage and you did an excellent job first creating it, then using it on a page for Mia's theme at AJJ. But the tag really is the star of the show!
ReplyDeleteYour herbs are amazing. You are creating some real healthy ones. I see a harvest in the near future, too. That plant with all the crazy branches is amazing. I've never seen one like it before.
So glad you were able to enjoy your cappuccino at the Rhine. I am glad for you. I know you have missed those times. And I'm really hungry for pineapple upside down cake now. It looks great. Thanks or sharing your incredible art, your beautiful photos, and your cappuccino in a favorite spot on the Rhine with us for T this almost Tuesday, dear. Hope you are feeling better, too.
Thanks Elizabeth! I need to start cutting some of the herby and freezing them. Happy T day!
DeleteI really enjoy your posts Valerie-such beautiful photography.
ReplyDeleteLove your tag for the vintage theme turned into a butterfly journal page-clever you!
Your herbs look healthy and growing well. I love herbs I recently dried lavender, oregano, rosemary, and mint from the few plants I have right now.
Perfect spot to enjoy your cup of coffee. Love that they are protecting trees-the sewer crew didn't care much about the trees here-sadly.
Happy T wishes and your cake looks delicious too
Thanks Kathy. I'm glad they are protecting the trees, they're so important for us all. Happy T Day!
DeleteWhat a lovely tag and love how the page was magicked! Glad you are getting coffee by the Rhine again. Your herbs look very healthy but I'm not sure about that strange tangled plant...how fast is it growing?
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fabulous. Hope the work outside doesn't take long! It's a good job it's bedtime - I would love some Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Hugs, Chrisx
Thanks Chris, magic is sometimes fun! The plant is growing fast, it's doubled in a few weeks, a sort of green monster! Happy T day!
Deletegorgeous tag Valerie- and I also love how you added it to the journal page as well! Oh so nice to have your coffee along the Rhine again.
ReplyDeleteWish I could grow such beautiful looking herbs...
Love the FB funny:):):) Happy T day!
Thanks Linda! My herby last year were not good, this time I am happy with them. Yes, it's a good funny, so true! Hugs!
DeleteLovely artwork...beautiful photos as always. That wild plant is so cool! I'm a huge fan of house plants but I've never seen anything like that! Your final meme cracked me up...truth!
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Thanks Halle. Glad that meme gave you a laugh! Happy T day!

ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha, you have a great week, too!
DeleteSuch a beautiful tag, so great to use up the leftovers and it looks so amazing on your pretty page too! That pineapple cake looks yummy, I'd love a piece with my cuppa today 😁. All your outside and inside plants look fabulous too! Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo! Help yourself to pineapple cake! Happy T Day!
DeleteValerie I love the joke at the end, so very true, LOL.
ReplyDeleteDelicious looking pineapple cake, I'm on my way for a slice.
You're tag is beautiful, what a pretty little girl, love all the embellishments you've added too, and the journal page.
Our herbs are struggling with the heat now, I love all the flowers and that strange plant, I have seen one before but never knew it's name,
Have a Happy T Day
Jan
Thanks, Jan, I found that joke really good! Help yourself to pineapple cake! It's been hot here, too, and the herbs - and the new plant - need watering constantly, in spite of protecting them with a sun shade! Happy T day, have a great week, hugs, Valerie
DeleteLove the tag with that darling girl and your super texture. Vintage is a fun theme and I may have to join in! I like that you added it to a journal page as well - really interesting and pretty. I like the butterfly quote.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures - love them all but my favorite is a toss up between your coffee and that funny Facebook picture.
Great post, Valerie. Happy T-day and many hugz
Thanks Nancy! I hope you will join in, that would be great! Yes that FB image is good! Have a great week, take care!
DeleteThank you for the pineapple upside down cake. I love it. Often make it myself. (I usually add maraschin cherries to make it look a bit more fancy, but the taste is the same)
ReplyDeleteYour tag is beautiful, I say while chomping on the cake, and i love the way you magicked the journal page. Clever you.
It's wonderful that you have been able to have a coffee by the river.
Your herbs are looking very healthy and inviting. I love that spirally plant. Will it be a hanging plant when it grows much more? I just looked it up and it is a pond plant that has to stand in water all the time.
I had a chuckle at your funny. It's true though isn't it.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Enjoy your cake. I always leave out the cherries as I don't like them! I have no idea if I will have to hang the plant or whatever, it has to stand in water all the time, loves sunshine and has almost doubled its size in 2 weeks, help! Yes, that funny is true! Happy T Day, hugs!
DeleteIt is a beautiful tag Valerie and it goes so well onto the journal page for Mia's theme at AJJ. I hope you are feeling much better this week.
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay safe.
Yvonne xx
Thanks Yvonne, the bronchitis has gone, and that#s a big relief! Have a happy T Day, hugs!
DeleteYour tag is just lovely Valerie. However, I am enjoying the view from your balcony and all of your plants. Very nice indeed. Have a great day today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole, I love my view, too!

ReplyDeleteMuch💛love
Thanks Gillena, have a great week!
DeleteLovely tag and perfect for the butterfly challenge. Your pineapple upside down cake looks delicious and moist. Certainly a favorite in our house.
ReplyDeleteYour herbs are looking great! And that spiral plant is so pretty. I had a few last year but they died. I should try one as a houseplant.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Thanks Kate, pineapple cake is always good! The plant needs 'wet feet', an likes to stand in water!
DeleteBeautiful tag! Delicious looking food, and gorgeous photos as always. Happy T Day!

Thanks Sandra. The older we get, the quicker time flies by! I never get enough done!
DeleteThis is the sweetest vintage tag design! Vintage is a wonderful theme choice and there are so many possibilities for creativity with vintage. I like the texture add of the burlap piece. Adding your tag to a journal page is a great idea. I need to remember that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, by adding the tag to the JP I killed 2 challenges with one stone!
