Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at TIOT - For the man in your life. As always, projects of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to join us. Have a look at our blog and see the wonderful projects of my teamies! This will be a birthday card for my neighbour. I used papers from Hunkydory, gold mirror-card and added a lot of stitching:
And my journal page for Mia's theme of butterflies at AJJ also has a masculine theme. I have once again made use of altered photos for the background. The man and his cat are from Mischief Circus:
And some photos from my walks and from my balcony:
(Blogger has once again changed the order of the pics)
Stormy weather:
The yellow boat is a dredger which makes sure that nicht too much sand and silt block the channels where the ships pass:
Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!
and thanks a lot for coming by!
lovely card and page! The photos are wonderful, those flowers...wow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, my balcony is blooming well!
DeleteYour art pieces are great and such pretty photos today. I like all the sky shots best. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha, the sky is always so fascinating!
DeleteThis is a really great masculine card. I always love vintage guys in top hats. Nice collage and all sewn together is fun. And what a really fun journal page of an unbreakable bond of friendship. It makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie! A bit of fun here and there is good! have a great day!
DeleteWhat an awesome masculine birthday card Valerie, the stitching looks beautiful, your neighbor will love it! Fabulous page too, great sentiment! Gorgeous photos and flowers!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead.
Tammy x
Thanks Tammy, I have a nice neighbour, who is very helpful. You have a great week, too!

ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, give Bella a big hug from me!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Lovely post, fun art and wonderful photos. Have a lovely day, look after yourself! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah. Hope you all have a lovely day, too. The sun is shining here, hopefully at your place, too! Hugs to all!
DeleteThey always say masculine cards are the most difficult but you've nailed it. I'm in awe over the centre of the osteospermum flower. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb! The centres of the flowers are really works of art, so fascinating!
DeleteThat's a beautiful card, dear. Looks like a great addition to Try it on Tuesday, too.
ReplyDeleteOf course I also love, love, love what you created for Mia's theme at AJJ. It is both cute and clever.
My favorite photos today are the flowers and the storm you captured.
Thanks Elizabeth. The storms are always impressive, more exciting to watch than TV!
DeleteBeautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteWhat a noble endeavour to dedicate today's creations to the men in the lives of all the crafters. I am sure they will all be wearing a self- satisfied smile as they go about their daily business. Maybe I'll adopt my smug look even though Miriam is not dedicating anything to me as far as I know! The storms look quite ominous, but they are true forces of nature, and I am sure the crow is sanguine about it all. And he/she can't even pop open the umbrella to take shelter. The flowers depict spring inflorescence at its finest and each one is uniquely beautiful in its own way. I guess you couldn't have a yellow submarine on the Rhine so you settled for a yellow dredger. Probably a whole lot more useful! Enjoy the rest of the week. Hugs and kisses. David
ReplyDeleteHi David, I thought that would please you! Please ask Miriam to take and post a photos of you with your self-satisfied smile! The storms were not too bad here, some places got huge amounts of rain and had a lot of flooding and damage. Now that's a great idea, a yellow submarine would be super, even better than a yellow dredger! And they could play that wonderful tune from the Beatles! The dredgers are always busy here, the ships have a channel in the middle of the Rhine which they can use, the rest ist too shallow, and if the dredgers weren't there it would cause a lot of chaos. Have a good day, take care! Hugs to you both!
DeleteYou know that the kitty image would stand out for me. lol I love your tag and your page as well. Enjoy your week. My hay fever is playing up with all the pollen around. Sending hugs. Anesha
ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha, sorry about the hay fever! Have a good week, hugs!
DeleteBoth works are
ReplyDeletenice but the one with the man and his cat is really cool. Beautiful photos. I wish you much health.
Thanks Lucyna, I know how you love cats! Have a good week!
DeleteLove your masculine page for Mia's challenge. I must look up this Mischief Circus as you seem to have some gorgeous pictures from there. I think the background you have made is absolutely fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos too, the flowers are superb.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet. Mischief Circus has digital images which you can buy and use digitally or print out. The background is a photo of the old town walls here, with a few embellishments! Have a great day, take care, hugs!
DeleteNice work on the cards.. Amazing set of photographs as usual VJ
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashok, have a great day!
DeleteSuch a fabulous card! Loving your design with the stitching and the moustache made me smile too 😀. Fun page and beautiful photos too! Happy and creative wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo, have a great day!
DeleteThat is a great card for your neighbor. Hope he likes it. And the journal page for AJJ is super. I love Mr. Cool Cat, and the face looking through the bricks is a great image too. Nice layering. Hope your weather is not stormy today. Ours could be; it is so hot and humid. Good thing I have a nice fan in the studio otherwise I could sit in there. Have a great Tuesday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHere it's still stormy, it some places it's much worse. Have a lovely day, I am off for an afternoon nap! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSky, sunsets, flowers and raven! Great photos, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE how you managed to use butterfly on a masculine theme! Wow! This is a unique page, my friend. I really admire it. Thank you for joining my challenge at AJJ. Kisses!
Thanks Mia, glad you like my page! Hugs!
DeleteThe neighbor's card is fascinating. It 1is a very masculine card. Love this journal page. Very much a masculine design yet sensitive and meaningful. Hard to explain but excellent. Always love your photography, especially the flowers this time. As a gardener they would make perfect seed descriptors. Very clear definition. Love the dredge photo. haven't seen one of those in many years.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,
Jim
Thanks Jim! The dredger is here a lot, the Rhine isn't deep enough, so a channel in the middle has to be kept clear for the barges and boats! Have a great week!
DeleteVibrant photos! That's a purrfect card and love that journal piece;)
ReplyDeleteHope your day goes smoothly.
Hugs
Thanks Sandra, have a great day!
DeleteIt's interesting (and frustrating, I'm sure) that the order of the photos gets changed. I wonder why that is... Your views are lovely, though, no matter the order :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why, but lots of people are having the same problems.
DeleteOh My Valerie, absolutely brilliant card and journal page. Love those 3 gents and the stitching! Love the photos, yes, why does blogger do that? Happens so often! Take care, Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris. Nobody knows, but it's annoying!
Deleteso amazing photos of the sunset...
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy!
DeleteNo matter the order of photographs, I enjoyed them all :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan!
DeleteIts a fantastic image on the card you made for your neighbour and the journal page looks amazing as well. I've enjoyed my catch up reading your posts and looking at all the lovely photos you are sharing with us from your walks.
