Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at AJJ and the lovely and talented Tracey is our guest host, with the theme of 'The meaning of....'. She explained that she wants to see things we like doing, things which are important to us, whatever they are, and that it's really another name for 'anything goes', which gives us all scope to journal about the things we love, and that's great. As always, you have the whole month to get creative and link to us!
One thing I like doing is creating journal pages with lots of texture in my A3 journal. The paper doll was given to me last year and I decided to build her into my page. I added some gold spots cut from an old gift envelope, stars, and some netting for good measure. The small circles were doodled:
Some photos taken late afternoon / early evening with my cell phone while I was out and about, so the quality isn't very good, but it gives you an impression:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
You have created a fabulous journal page, Valerie. It is so pretty and the ballerina looks so good in her tutu. It's wonderful. I am impressed by the gold, too. Thanks for this inspiring first entry at Art Journal Journey. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your tag, too. I like the idea of anything goes, but I really LOVE your Christmasy tag.
It's hard to get nighttime photos, but you showed us how beautiful your city is at night.
Thanks Elizabeth, have a great day, take care!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! I love your beautiful page, and little S will, too, when she sees it later, she is quite crazy for ballet lessons just now, and can't wait to get started....Beautiful tag, too, looks cold but very beautiful. Have a good day, hope you have everything ready for the hospital. Have a great day, hugs from all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sarah! Thanks, I thought it would please S! I am slowly getting things sorted, so it should all work out all right. Hugs to all!
Vielen Dank, liebe Elke. Abends sieht es immer sehr schön aus am Rhein entlang. Dir einen schönen Tag, bleib gesund!
DeleteMorning Valerie, thank you so much for the warm welcome @ AJJ this month and doesn't your lovely ballet paper doll look in her element as she dancing around your mixed media page. I know how much you love texture and A3 certainly gives a huge space to play and explore. Wishing you well & sending Hugs Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteP.S Your cellphone pics are so atmospheric x
Thanks Tracey, much appreciated. I'm looking forward to what you get up to this month, and am sure we will see some wonderful art from you! Have a great week, stay safe!
DeleteI love both pieces today, but your ballerina is in a league of her own. The two photos, one with the couple, one with a bicyclist, make me think of a story beginning to take shape.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Wales, Deb
Thanks Deb. I used to take photos as a kid, and then write stories about them and pin them on my wall, it was fun. What happens after they walk/cycle away? Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteThanks Lauries!
ReplyDeleteLovely journal art VJ
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashok!
DeleteOh Valerie, your dancing girl really looks as though she is lost in the moment! Love the sweet tag! The late evening photos are wonderful - fabulous long views! Take care, Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, take care!
DeleteDance like nobody's looking. Well, Valerie, when I dance, which is very seldom, it is better that no one is looking. I am the master of the shuffle, the king of the clomp! I can dance better after hitting my thumb with a hammer! Funny thing is, I actually took ballroom dancing classes for a while when I was nineteen, but I think that was just a good excuse to get close to the girls! How about you? Are you a dancer, or were you in your younger days? Did you swirl and glide with the best of them? The pictures you have taken with your cell phone ate terrific and really convey the atmosphere of the area and the season. The quality obtainable with cell phones these days is quite remarkable. The day is already half over for you, but I hope it has been, and continues to be enjoyable, and that your fingers are not misbehaving too badly. See you tomorrow. Hugs and kisses, David
ReplyDeleteHi David, thanks. No, I am not a dancer. At school we did modern 'free-dance', where you make strange movements to some awful music while dressed in a sort-of Greek tunic, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! And if I dance today, definitely when nobody's looking, it's the only way. M daughter wanted to learn ballet, but was horrified when she saw that they all wore blue dresses there, she only wore pink - drama! End of story, she learnt horse-riding! Today was not good one till now, I will be happy when it's over! I will write you a mail later! Have a great day, take care, hugs to you and M!
DeleteI love the dancer Valerie. She is quite festive for this holidays of all types season. Perhaps she is ready for New Years Eve. Very early I admit. And nice new tag challenge. I made a couple of Christmasy ones one day to get my mojo moving. And too bad cell phones just don't do photos clear in the dark. But the graininess does give a cool view. Happy December! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. I'm not ready for the holidays, that#s for sure, perhaps the mood will come! Take care, have a great day!

Love your dancer and the little bit she is holding. Your texture is amazing! We definitely all need to dance more even if it is in secret. Lovely tag full of fun details too.
