Hi Everybody!
It's Friday - this week has raced by again; so much to do and never enough time!
For Paint Party Friday and for Tracey's challenge at AJJ I painted a nature girl. I enjoy working with one basic colour:
I wonder what they are all looking at?
Our Christmas market this year is very small:
The pub/restaurant is only open for take-aways:
A lot of the shops have decorated nicely for the holidays:
We had one sunny day with blue skies this week:
My shadow showed me the way!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
One of your favorite shadow pics:)
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of your painting because my sister in law just sent me a picture of herself wearing her new COVID mask that had antlers attached:) Maybe they're twins:) I especially like the eyes in your piece. They have life.
Take special care.
Hugs
Thanks Sandra, I like the idea of a mask with antlers! Stay safe!
DeleteBeautiful nature girl! Good that there is a bit of a market this year. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, stay safe!
DeleteThanks Laurie!
ReplyDeleteHi Val, good morning! Your girl is gorgeous, love her, and the words you have given her. Great colours, too. Hope all goes well today and that you soon settle down at the clinic, all the best from us all, get well soon! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I'm hoping all will go well. Have a good day, hugs to all!

Schön wenigstens was weihnachtliches mit paar Buden.
Alles gute dir liebe Valerie und ich denke an dich liebe Umarmung von Fee und Feenstäubchen💖💖
Danke, liebe Elke!
DeleteI love when you take photos of your shadow, Valerie. Very artistic! The little birds one the tree are posing for someone, I think. Ha ha! Great painting, my friend. I also love painting faces, but your girl is beautiful. Kisses!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mia! Stay safe
DeleteBeutiful artwork. Please show more of your paintings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra, will do!
DeleteGreat portrait and photos. Hope all goes well at the clinic.
ReplyDeleteHugs Wendy.
Thanks Wendy, they're keeping me busy today
DeleteMy, what long legs you have! lol
ReplyDeleteThis morning, the Welsh government has told us our Fire Break in November has not worked and cases now continue to rise. Very worrying indeed.
Painting monochrome is challenging. I think you have done well with it.
Deb in Wales
Thanks Deb! Cases are rising everywhere, it's scary.
DeleteA very stunning post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting!
Have a great Friday!
Hugs!
Thanks Ella! Have a wonderful day!
DeleteNature Girl looks earthy, primal and seductive. She encompasses all the mysteries and wonders of nature in that lovely, enigmatic face. And just like her mother, Mother Nature of course, she can be pretty moody at times. Sometimes she will reward you with balmy breezes, warm sunshine, flowers and birds singing melodiously, but watch out if you get in her wrong side. She can shatter your equilibrium with a flood or a hurricane in the blink of an eye. I wonder what Father Nature looks like? We all know about Mother Nature, and since you have now revealed Girl Nature, Valerie, one assumes that Father Nature must be somewhere. After all, that is the very essence of nature, the birds and the bees and all that stuff. Or maybe it's another one of those immaculate conception fables. And that's no fun! Stay well today, stay calm. I am thinking of you. Hugs and kisses. David
ReplyDeleteThanks David. Yes, WHO is father nature? Good question, I'll have to think about it..... I'm busy settling in here at the clinic. And there's a wonderful coffee Machine here, yessssss! More tomorrow when I have more time! Hugs to you both!
DeleteThey will need extra supplies in that coffee machine now that you are in residence!
DeleteOh yes, that's true!☕☕☕☕
DeleteNature Girl looks very confidant. What are the birds looking at? Great shot! Such blue skies and the shop windows look so festive. Take care and stay safe
ReplyDeleteThanks. Perhaps there was a hawk nearby!
DeleteStunning artwork as always and beautiful photos. I hope you get some nice weather this weekend. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha! Stay safe!
DeleteGreat art page and enjoyed all the photos. I love seeing inside the shop windows-I have not lived near a town since childhood that had shop windows like that. I love seeing yours Happy Friday
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy, the Shops in Düsseldorf are great, but very expensive.
Deleteoh that's not fun then
DeleteI always wait for the sales!
DeleteThis is nicely done and timely. Oddly enough, it reminds me of a deer decoration I just put up that has antlers made out of tree branches.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that's a strange coincidence! Have a great day!
DeleteStunningly beautiful nature girl painting.
ReplyDeleteSuch earthy colors and I love the branches and her beautiful brown eyes.
Your shadow photo was very cool!
Hugs ☕
Thanks Jan, the sun makes us grow!
DeleteYour nature girl is beautiful, and your photos are wonderful Valerie! Great shadow shot!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday,
Alison xx
Thanks Alison, have a great day!
DeleteIt's encouraging to see shops decorating even in these days. I appreciate folks who are attempting to foster a festive spirit but safely.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It all looks a bit more hopeful with the Decorations.
DeleteLove the tree with its own natural bird ornaments:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great one. Stay safe. Be healthy and pain free.
Hugs
Thanks Sandra! Enjoy your weekend.

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou've done wonders with one basic colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lin!
DeleteNice post, painting, etc. We had to close our Senior Center for dining inside and are only serving pick up meals and will delivery It is so sad because we need support to stay alive through all this, just as everyone does.
ReplyDeleteSame here, even the homeless are being given food packets and then sent away, it's heartbreaking.
DeleteYour painting is beautiful and the girl is so adorable. I love her necklace. The sentiment is lovely, too. In fact, it includes part of my word of the year for next year. Thanks, too for making it especially for Tracey's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos of the market and the store window. Christmas is definitely on its way.
Thanks E, I just had the urge to paint her!
DeleteA different holiday season this year. But perhaps lovely in its own way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie!
DeleteI love your nature girl. I like how you used one base color and how you painted her. She is great for Tracey's challenge. And I think everything this holiday season is going to be scaled down. But it is nice to have some decorations up to cheer up the home. Hope you have a wonderful weekend Valerie. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. Here in the clinic everything is nicely decorated. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
DeleteBeautiful painting! Her eyes are amazing 😀. I'm loving the Christmas market, our pubs are closed here too and the shadow photo of you is my favourite - perfect! Happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks, I don't miss the pubs but the cafes here! One day....Shadow photos are always fun!
DeleteYour nature girl is beautiful Valerie! I love the photo of the birds. We are back into "orange level" which means no unnecessary travel, I don't think that the shops will do a lot of business this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rain. Same here, some places in our little town have had to give up, such a pity!
DeleteI love your painting. She is exactly who I would love to be could I turn the clock back. I would love to look just like her and have her thoughts and promises in my head.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you since I learned you were going into hospital.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet. It's always good to have new thoughts and insights. Take care of yourself!
DeleteShe is so pretty as the natural girl. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole!
DeleteNature and portraiture both so special to me, you've shared just how we can be as one with a limited colour palette, it's a special thing. Sorry i'm a little late catching up had an unexpected delivery arrive and been trying to sort things out all weekend.. Hope you are well and all went ok..?? Take care lovely xx P.S those birds are looking out for you to take their snap shot hee hee x
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey. I am doing well!
DeleteI LOVE the last picture! So fun. Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy, I love being out with my shadow!
DeleteYour nature girl is beautiful! Some lovely shading and colors and she matches your first picture of your walks as well. Stunning page.
ReplyDeleteLove the shop pictures - I would look at the pirate shirt for sure! So cool. Thanks for sharing these pictures. They are always a treat. Even fun to see your shadow. Hoping you are doing better! Hugz
Thanks Nancy! I had fun with this girl! I like the pirate shirt, too!

ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen, it could have been a concert catching their attention! Have a great weekend!
