Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

This has been a busy week and I'm happy it's weekend. Yesterday I actually did some of the dreaded, but necessary housew**k, and even cleared my work table and side table. I can see the wood of the table again, always a nice surprise!

For Tag Tuesday, my 'down on the farm' challenge, I have a last tag, this time with flowers and plants. The new challenge starts next week, so you still have a couple of days to join in:

For Jo's texture challenge at AJJ I have another A3 mixed media journal page:

And some photos from my walks, and from a visit to Süd Park to visit the animals again, fitting to the down on the farm theme:

Heike and Doris, the lovely pigs:

There are always lots of crows there:

The meadows are a paradise for sheep, too:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Really wonderful post. I don't know how you create so much art, and walk to take photos and everything else you do. Have a great weekend.

  5. Nice tag and thanks for the reminder that down on the farm isn't always about the animals. I like the dream page for AJJ. It is really magical. The clock on the butterfly is fantastic, and those little houses cut out of various materials look great. I love the farm animal photos too. Those pigs are so cute lazing in the sun. Hope you good with the housework for a bit. I think I need to do some this weekend. Enjoy yours. Hugs-Erika

  11. Your tag is wonderful. I love how you colored the boots/waders. Not sure what you call them in your country. It was great to see something besides the animals in this tag.

I love your very unique mixed media entry for Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey. It was so different and beautifully abstract, too. The collaged portion was perfect and the butterfly with its 3-D element was perfect, too.

Those little pigs are adorable. They are genuinely sweet and adorable, but the lambs are so cuddly looking. I'm loving seeing farm animals because I'm a city girl. Don't work too hard. Now that your table is clean, you can get it messy again soon. Stay safe, too, please.

    1. Here in Germany they are Gummi Stiefeln, in England Wellington boots, or more often 'wellies'. I love farm animals, too. I grew up in London, near the docks, but lots of people had animals in their back yards, however small, such as chickens, goats and sheep, and one lady always had a couple of pigs. It was fun! Have a good day!

  14. Beautiful tags, love the garden wellies tag and the colors on the vibrant butterfly tag. Beautiful photos too. Why does housew**k (love that) have to interfere with art...it’s a real tug of war.

    1. Thanks Nan. That Is the million dollar question. I don't know why, it just DOES! For me it's really a swear word, and as a Lady I try to avoid such things! Have a great weekend!

  15. You did housework? Okay, lie down and let me take your pulse. This may be a very serious condition requiring immediate attention. Hopefully it is a mild case of houseworkitis, and not a serious attack which is known to alter one's entire demeanour. I suspect that you are of the right stuff, Valerie, and will be able to fight off this potentially dire condition. Failure to do so may mean that you walk around with the vacuum cleaner nozzle in one hand and a duster in the other for the rest of your life. It can be a serious impediment to drinking coffee, and I would imagine that it would impact on crafting in a major way. Your whimsical output today is, by the way, delightful, enchanting even, captivating, with butterflies flitting hither and yon. Perhaps a little more hither than yon, but such conclusions are probably subjective at best. The crows look very wise, as of course they are, and the goats are both goofy and appealing. Just make sure you don't have food in your pocket when you are in close proximity, otherwise your pants may be ventilated in places where you don't want them to be. The weekend is here. Relax and enjoy. And - listen carefully - no more freakin' housew**k! Hugs and kisses from across the waves. David

    1. Hi David! Yes, I did. When I start to leave footprints on the floor I know I must do it, but don't worry, it will never get to be a habit with me! I always love goats and their tricks. They sell little bags of food there. One of them watched me getting a bag, and then ran across to smile at me as quickly as possible! I've been busy walking, drinking coffee and crafting today, so back to my normal activities. I hope you enjoyed your walk with Lily and Heather. Have a great day, stay safe! Hugs to you both!
