Thursday / Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is  progressing well. Here it's still very mild, it doesn't feel like November yet. In this post I have art & or photos for various challenges which take place on Thursday and Friday.

First of all I have an A3 collage for  Bleubeard and Elizabeth's collage fodder challenge at Art Journal journey.  I used a mop up page and lots of magazine cut-outs. The pictures were very bright so I wiped some diluted gesso over them. There are lots of faces here, too, so I will also link to Nicole's FFO:

These pics are meant for Rain's frosty theme this week:

And for Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd although it's the 3rd I have some pieces from bygone times - and there are faces for Nicole, too!

And I will also be linking to  Gillena's Friday fun.

To all of you who are still awake - well done - The end is nigh!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. So much packed into one post here, Valerie. It must be a challenge rising to the various challenges and selecting pieces to suit each one. Miriam says I am very challenging so I would probably do well. How could she possibly be so sarcastic and derisive about her dear devoted husband? I am hurt deep inside and I may never recover. I will probably wallow in despair the rest of my days, and even they may be shortened by this callousness. Yesterday we had lunch with old friends of ours, old both chronologically, and in terms of the time we have known them, and it was very enjoyable. Miriam (yes, her) and I both had a southwestern style salad, which was deliciously spicy and very tasty indeed. Then we ordered a cappuccino and I immediately thought of you. It was very good too. I think I will tune into You Tube and see if I can find a video on Wound- Licking 101. If I don't comment on your next post you will know that I have succumbed to extreme anguish and desperation! Hugs and kisses - David

  5. Oops, I forgot to say thanks for the GLORIOUS header with CANADA (yay!) Geese. Your taste in birds is impeccable Valerie, Dahling!

    1. David, you poor thing! How could Miriam be so cruel to you. Now the whole world will be comiserating with you. How could anybody think that you are challenging?! You poor thing! But it seems that you had nice food when you met up with your friends, so that was something! Glad you have now noticed the Canada geese enjoying our Rhine. Have a great day, take care, and don't let Miriam say anything bad to you! Big hugs!

  7. We're in the warmer weather for November here also. I am loving it but it is certainly not normal. And I love the new journal page. It has a magical watery feel-very nice. And I remember these second looks; they are lots of fun this time around also. Hope you are feeling ok and having a good week. Hugs-Erika

  8. I like how you used magazine images as collage fodder. It is a great entry. The background is wonderful, too. Thanks for sharing this with Bleubeard's and my theme at AJJ.

I remember most of those wonderful second looks. They are great to see again. I think there is one that is new to me, but I am so glad you shared these with us as your second look on the 2nd, dear Valerie.

  12. Well, I love everything about your post today. The collage for AJJ is fabulous and I do like watered down Gesso to tone things down in artwork. That plus the butterflies just ties everything together and makes for a very pleasing composition
The faces pages are great, especially the Acme Buggy one and the next three. I would be having those on my wall if they were mine.
Have a lovely restful weekend, but enjoy the milder weather when you can.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  17. Your collage has a dreamy look. I was curious about the slogan “ LIBERTÉ. QUALITÉ. DURABILITÉ “ which turns out to be an advertisement for some type of clothing.

    Have a good weekend!
