Hi Everybody!
Today I have another collage for Elizabeth's Collage Fodder/ food challenge at AJJ. I used lots of magazine cut-outs and a few leaves and flower die-cuts for it- This is what a call a seamless collage:
Some funnies / thinkies:
I will also be linking to Nicole's FFO and
Gillena's Friday art fun.
Sorry no small talk today, my fingers are very shaky.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Feel better soon Valerie. Lovely seamless collage and great thinkies.

DeleteGood morning, Valerie. You are meriting my highest praise on two fronts today. Any image displaying different races together is worthy of praise and more of it is needed around the world. I despair that we can ever live together in harmony, and history seems to indicate otherwise, but we should never stop trying. Secondly, of course, is the beautiful Blue Tit, singing his little heart out. The cartoon of the dog rubbing the tummy of the cat is pretty funny, but reminds me of an incident in my own life. I was on business in Jamaica many years ago with a fellow from redneck Georgia who had been raised in a rabid segregationist family, but he, thankfully had shucked those shackles and lived in liberal New York. We were invited to a high end restaurant in Kingston where there was a dance floor and he was dancing with a charming and beautiful black woman. As he guided her around floor, he passed near our table, and leaned over to me and said, "David - if my daddy could see me now!" People can change. Some people do think! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteIt's good that some people do think and learn to be different, and I'm very muc h in favour of bringing people of different nations, colours and beliefs together. That's a fun anecdote you told of your friend in Kingston. But some people can never get away from their hatred of others. A difficult theme, some people will not change. But let's be happy for those who manage to learn to be different! BIG hugs, Valerie
DeleteYour collage is striking and sends a beautiful message. Loved your funnies too. Sorry about your fingers.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Judee!

Thanks so much Regine!
DeleteBeautiful collage piece, the images work so well. Hugs Anesha
ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha, have a great weekend!
DeleteYour journal entry is stunning. I read it as "two sides to every coin" and "disparity." I love that the collage is seamless. I just wish our world could be seamless, too. Sadly it is not and is getting more fractured daily. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard's and my theme.
ReplyDeleteMy sincere apologies if I have missed anything. My internet has been offline for well over a day. Between blogger and the internet, I am really stressed out.
I loved the two dogs petting the cat. It made my day, dear.
Thanks Elizabeth. I'm having problems with my laptop which keeps going on strike....And Blogger really doesn't help-
DeleteYour health concerns us all! I wish you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeletebest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com

DeleteOh I love this page Valerie. What a wonderful collage. The faces are amazing and the way you connected them really says how beautiful women are. Nice funnies. I love the cartoon with the 2 dogs and the cats. Hee-hee. My dog Harley and my cat Emmie were like that, but as soon as someone came around their affection would stop. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend here. It is grey and wet for me. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika! My cat and dog were inseparable and were always together, they were partners in crime! Have a great Sunday!
DeleteYour collage speaks to the wonder of togetherness ... free from racial biases and open to the possibilities that things can change ... I hope I live to see it. Speaking of living, I do hope you are finding your way back to good health. You have so much to offer in this life and you deserve to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Feel better, Valerie ... we are all pulling for you :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From the Sol
Thanks Andrea. I hope one day we will all find our way to a peaceful world with mutual kindness and respect ❤️. Hugs!

ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Thanks Chrissy! Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteVery nice collage! I loke your message. Hope you’re feeling better.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that your fingers are shaky. What makes them do that? I hope it passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe contrast between the grandmother and child and the perfectly made-up redhead is arresting: one so vividly real, and the other jarringly unreal. I hope your fingers are steadier now. It's maddening when your fingers don't cooperate. Take care!
