Hi Everybody!
Yesterday we started a new challenge at More Mixed Media Blog
As always, our challenges are anything mixed media goes with an optional colour - blue. You have 4 weeks to join us and I hope to see you there!
I am showing a mixed media piece made after a lesson in the Lifebook taster course, an abstract painted in water colours with added college:
As I have used some of my fave colours I am linking to Erika's challenge at AJJ
We always have lots of beautiful flowers in the clinic:

Delete💖😁💖
ReplyDeleteThe garden at night looks lovely, Valerie, at this high end spa where you now reside. And fresh flowers everywhere is a wonderful touch. Of all the simple delights in life I think that fresh flowers and clean sheets are two of the most wonderful. Your abstract art is charming, created during your blue period no doubt, at a time when when life was full of abstraction perhaps. There has been a bit if an invasion of birds called crossbills this year and yesterday Miriam and I came across a lively, chattering flock of Two-barred Crossbills. We watched their antics for about twenty minutes before they moved deeper into the forest and out of view. We will see what joy today brings. Be sure to smell the flowers today.
ReplyDeleteThanks David. The garden is just a bit cold for sitting outside just now, and mostly used by smokers! I love the flowers, it really makes the place friendlier. Hmmmm, at the moment I don't have so much time for abstraction, but sooner or later....and I am able to do some art here, so that's great. I just looked up crossbills, they are pretty birds. I wonder why there have been so many of them this year? Hope you fid beautiful birds again today. Take care, hugs to you both!
DeleteThey normally remain farther north, but this year the cone crop has been very poor and they have moved south in search of food. It happens every few years, the last such invasion being in 2012.
DeleteThanks for the Info!
DeleteYour mixed media piece is lovely. It puts me in mind of the sea in summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I was thinking of the sea and seaweed!
DeleteI love the blue Valerie. (blue and green are my favorites for sure) I like the movement of the lines and designs. Very cool piece. Thanks for your support at AJJ! And those flowers are gorgeous. What a wonderful touch. The outdoor garden looks really pretty too. I would enjoy being able to sit out there if it was nice enough. Hope all is well. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, it's a bit cold for sitting outside, only the smokers seem to use it just now! All is going well, thanks! Stay safe!
