Hi Everybody!
Today we are beginning a new challenge at Art Journal Journey, and this time our wonderful Erika is hosting, and has chosen 'Favourite things' as our theme. Some of my fave things are the moon, the stars and the sun which I love to watch and photograph. The painting I am sharing today was made after watching a video from Melanie Rivers to celebrate the winter solstice and the return of the light:
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday
Some photos of the sun and moon, light for the earth:
May the new year be filled with light!
Happy New Year everybody!
Stay safe and positive!
This is definitely the way to start the new year. Stars, moon, sun, rebirth, all point to hope and promise of better things to come. This is a great first entry for Erika's theme. It goes perfectly with your moon shots, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks E, let's hope that this year will be better!

DeleteSuch a beautiful page! I love the dark background with the moon and stars and your lady is so pretty 😀. Of course I might have guessed that the moon and sun would be your favourite things as your photos always capture them so beautifully! Including the photos you have shared today, the colours and scenes are amazing. All the very best for 2021, let's hope it's a better year for everyone - Happy New Year! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo. Let's hope this year will be better for us all!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely thought I would see the moon when I clicked on your entry. Such a pretty page with so much texture, lovely colors, great touches of gold, and promising words. Those words are perfect for this New Year - New Years following sad times seem to be so full of hope and dreams. Great page, Valerie. Hope you are are feeling better. Hugz
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, we need to reassure ourselves that this year will be a better one. Hugs!
DeleteHappy New Year, Valerie. I don't think too many will be sad to leave 2020 behind, and for some it has been a truly terrible year. I think that Miriam and I have probably suffered less than many, but the restrictions on seeing friends and being unable to travel were disagreeable nonetheless. Each new year is a time to look forward with hope, and now that we all have the possibility of being vaccinated, the end of COVID confinement may be in sight. We have crisp white snow outside and that is probably a good way to begin 2021. Take care, stay well, stay safe, walk often, drink coffee, eat cheese, roll up your sleeves and get pricked! Hugs and kisses, David.
ReplyDeleteThanks David. This year has been hard for many people, but we need to stay positive! I hope we can be vaccinated soon and regain a little freedom. No snow here, just grey and damp, but I still enjoyed my walk. Take care, hugs to you both!
DeleteBeautiful art and today's photos are exceptional! Happy New Year Valerie - Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha, all the best to you and yours!
