Hi Everybody!
Hope your week got off to a good start! It's a chilly but sunny morning here as I write this, and I have been drinking my coffee and watching the sun rise, always a great start to any day.
At Tag Tuesday we are starting a new challenge today, I am hosting, and our theme is 'anything goes'. Tags of all formats - large, small, real, digital and hybrid are all welcome, so hope to see YOU joining us! I made a set of 4 tags from an A3 sheet of heavy paper, which was painted with leftover acrylics and textured with a comb. When it was dry, I chopped it into 4 equal pieces and sewed each one to some purple card. Each tag is 12" x 5". Here I stenciled structure paste through a home-made stencil, added feathers, flowers, a dancer and a sentiment:
Here are the 4 tags together, each sewn with a different pattern:
And as I am also hosting AJJ this month, I digitally altered my tag to make a journal page to link there. I placed the tag onto a hand-painted background and added some elements from Mischief Circus and Serif:
And I am also linking to TIOT, fun with stencils, where I am guest designer just now.
And today is also time for Elizabeth's weekly link party, TSFT, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang.
My drink is, as always coffee - what else?
The Easter things in the shops have been reduced, and today the shops will be opening again:
There was not much going on the small market last week:
Not many people about in the early mornings:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Happy T day ~ our shops are still closed here ~ You can get curbside pick up, but it's not the same to shop online as it is to browse around. I love all the blooms ~ Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! I was able to buy 2 new pens today at the stationer's!
DeleteHi Val, good evening. Woohoo, this time I'm not the last one! And I've been enjoying a quiet evening, what a lovely change! Love your new tag, it's very beautiful, and the journal page you made from it is wonderful. Love the colours. Great photos as always. Have a nice evening, I bet you're watching Barnaby! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, enjoy your quiet evening! Here it's always too quiet for my taste!

ReplyDeleteYour works are very interesting. I love coffee and chocolates is such a small piece of happiness in this bad time. A lot of health :)
Thanks. Little things like coffee and chocolate are a good comfort just now.
DeleteYou certainly got a lot of challenges covered with that one tag you started with, dear Valerie. I can't believe you made that stencil yourself. You say you don't "do" math, but those quadrilaterals are out of this world. That required lots of measuring to make them equal. I'm totally impressed.
ReplyDeleteI love the dancer. Your tag turned out great, and turning the tag into a journal spread was brilliant. So sweet of you to share yet another of your incredible geometric shapes with us at Art Journal Journey.
I love the coffee and cupcake. They will save the world. Just beautiful art. Gotta love those cappuccinos, too. They are fun to see, even if some are digitally enhanced.
The sale prices on some of those bunnies and Easter decorations is wonderful. I suspect would have trouble getting out of that shop if I was there when they had that good a sale. So glad you shared these, but now I want one of each (grin).
Thanks for sharing your incredible art, your trips to town and the shops, and your coffee and cappuccino with us for T this Tuesday.
Thanks Elizabeth. It's a big tag so it covers lots of challenges:)
DeleteHi my friend - such a beautiful tag and you took me right to the ocean with the gorgeous design and texture! I love the colors and the diamonds are a perfect balance with the contrasting white. I love early morning walks when the hustle and bustle hasn't started but my favorite is still the quiet of the night when all the world is asleep - except me! Stay safe and air hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! Early morning and night are both great times for walks. Glad ou like the colours!
DeleteThe tags are gorgeous. I love the purple, green, and bluish hues together. Sounds like your town is slowly getting back to normal. We are just hitting the peak of the virus in Massachusetts. Still stay at home advisory except for shopping though there have been some protests. Small stores and restaurants doing curbside pick up or delivery. Grocery stores limiting the number of people in at one time. So I really enjoy the pictures of your walks and looking in the shop windows. Take care and Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ. I love those colours, too. No restaurants are open, most are doing take-away services instead. Here in the smaller shops only one or two people are allowed in at a time. I hope things don't get bad again!
DeleteWhat beautiful tags! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteYour walk looks lovely. Always nice to see the flowers and sights along your way. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe!
~Jess
Thanks Jess. Look after yourself!

DeleteYour tags are absolutely stunning, and I never tire of looking at your pictures, Valerie! Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteThanks Ro, look after yourself!
DeleteGreat tag and also how you created such a cool piece digitally using it. It's a smart way to go double duty with it. You managed to combine three challenges in one. That's fantastic. And if you didn't share a cup of coffee with us for T day, I would wonder if you were well. Smile. Have a wonderful T day Valerie. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. If I don't drink coffee I am ill, that's true! I was determined to make a tag to fit all three challenges! Stay safe!
DeleteLovely tags. It is a bit scary with the shops opening up, take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. It is a bit worrying, I hope people stay sensible!

ReplyDeleteIch sollte mir deine schönen Tags vorm Schalfengehen ansehen!
Bleib gesund!

DeleteHi Val, beautiful tags, restful background, love the cool colors. Thanks to your many examples on the art journaling geo shapes, I have realized I was being way too literal. I'm working on a spread now for AJJ. To be continued, laterz! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee, glad you now have some ideas! Stay safe!
DeleteGorgeous tags, with gorgeous colours.
ReplyDeleteThat shop is really doing a good sale! But I have so many knick-knacks that it is probably a good thing I do not live near enough to be tempted.
Your coffee looks yummy, your mug is beautiful and the Rittersport makes my mouth water. (We can't get those here).
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Sometimes I wished we couldn't buy Rittersport here, either, always so tempting! Have a good and safe week!
DeleteYour artwork is, as always, very creative. I don't know how you continue to come up with so many great ideas. Maybe it's coffee and chocolate that does the trick!

DeleteThe one with the ballerina is especially beautiful. That coffee looks good. I am glad the shops are opening again. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot. Coffee is always good....
DeleteBack to have another try to leave a comment. I did call earlier, but it seems that I cannot get a comment to post. Anyway I do love your fabulous tags and the page you created. I hope her dreams come true.

ReplyDeleteI'm impressed your shops are re-opening. I'd definitely be tempted by the -is it pewter?- rabbit sitting there. The tulips are a pretty sight. Happy T Tuesday!
Thanks! The mug is not stenciled but stamped with a home carved stamp, I needed coffee and a muffin in my collection! Stay safe and well!

DeleteTruly stunning tags! and the fact that you used the images for other projects is very clever and fun. Always enjoy seeing photos of your area, shops and buildings! Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dianne. Have a great day!
DeleteLove the strong rich, regal colours on your tags. I wish I could get my sewing machine out and do something like this on some of my artwork. It is just so huge and heavy. I do have one of those tiny craft ones but I have not a clue how to thread it up never mind use it.
ReplyDeleteWhat struck me as well as the gorgeous colours of your tags was the crispness of the texture paste you have applied. Absolutely beautiful and very striking.
Just loved seeing them all lined up together, I think they would look lovely on the wall.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet. I had fun making the tags. The texture paste was a special from Lidl. Have a great evening, stay safe!
DeleteI really love the texture and the stitching on your tags. The diamonds are wonderful. It's probably good I'm not near those shops. I don't think I could pass up a bunny or two!
ReplyDeleteI think you would be living in some of those shops! They are tempting!
DeleteOMG, Valerie. Was that gift card from YOU? Thank you, thank you beyond belief, dear. You should NOT have done that, though. I am totally overwhelmed, because there is NO way I can possibly repay you.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got it, enjoy!
DeleteI love the little daisy and the treat! Here's to a yummy fun week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy, stay safe!
