Hi Everybody!
Today it's time to dig out an older post for the 2nd on the 2nd
link-up at Elizabeth's.
I made this mixed media collage 2 years back:
For Simon Monday Challenge, circles, Creative Artiste,
anything goes, and Paint Party Friday
I made a mixed media piece, using various papers, Mr UM, painting,
doodling, stamping and sewing. This will be another new journal cover,
the last one for the time being:
I started off with a left-over piece of painted
and stamped card:
The other layers were added, glued, sewed on etc:
The metal studs/ buttons are left over from old jeans:
I am also linking to mixed media monthly, #34-buttons:
As always, I enjoyed walking along the Rhine:
Love the flowers growing on the old town walls:
I took this photo especially for Elizabeth, it's the
official sign here for a footpath:
The ducks were having a midday snooze:
The swan has been around again, but doesn't like the
heron or the ducks and geese....
And more visitors to my balcony:
Have a great day, take care,
and thank a lot for coming by!
What a fantastic post Val. Both pieces of art are fantastic, I am always in awe how you manage to recreate yourself every day. And both pieces are so different, even though Mr UM is in both. Fabulous! Love all the photos, too! We're off to the zoo today, so hope the weather stay fine. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteBoth the pieces are fantastic. The first one made me think of Poirot.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photographs today the swan is amazing and so close up and your special pigeon looks wonderful with the flowers in front. Even the feathers on the neck stand out so clearly. Thank you for sharing all of them
Love Chrissie xx

Ilove that black and white movie poster-like page, you so captured an old world feel with it. Visiting from PPF.
ReplyDeleteHello Valerie, both your umbrella men and their quotes are gorgeous and really inspiring. Thanks for showing how you go about construction and all the close up photos - they really are appreciated.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful walk. I love those climbing roses and those ducks having their snooze... ha ha... on one leg, so cute.
You have the most charming visitors to your balcony too - delightful!
Cheers now and Happy PPF :D) xx
Fabulous umbrella man design. Love your gorgeous nature pics, just beautiful.

It's ironic how you have incorporated your UM in so many designs. You never seem to tire of using him and I love that. The first piece I like because it shows the black and white of it all. I think I remember this original entry. It certainly looks familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteYour newest piece, the journal cover, is wonderful because of the UM and the incredible sewing. It's incredible that although your art has changed and grown, your UM still plays a big part in your art.
Thanks for sharing your UM with us for a second look on the 2nd and thanks for sharing him in the updated version, too!
I pressed publish too fast and forgot to mention how much I like that sign. It appears I stuck my foot in my mouth when I originally thought it was a restroom sign and read that men can use it, too (big grin and red face).
ReplyDeleteIts really a good sign, one oft My faves 😂
DeleteSuper art - old and new!
ReplyDeleteGreat photography!
Happy Friday and happy start of your weekend.
Love how you have used that umbrella man Valerie! Wonderful photos , and that swan-gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteLove how you doubled up on the umbrella man and used all those wonderful ephemera. Your photos are beautiful, especially the swan.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great comparison of old and new. Perfect for the second. And am wondering if its cooled down any? It looks a little hazy like it hasn't. Hope its a great start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! This piece is stunning. My eyes didn't focus on the woman in the corner and when she popped out it was amazing. Love this piece. Wonderful photos too.
