Hi Everybody!
On Tuesday we are beginning a new challenge at
-Numbers and or letters-
As always, projects of all format or allowed, and you have
2 weeks to link your creations to us -
hope to see you there!
I made and A3 mixed media piece. The background was gessoed
and then painted with cream with a little streak of yellow ochre here
and there. The numbers, diamonds and cogs were added with stencils
and burnt umber paint. I used various bits of paper napkins and
then added some splatters. Two of 'my' men were placed centre
stage and given some contrasting colour and some gold leafing
. I shaded their edges with umbra pastel chalk.
The sentiment is from Dina Wakley.
I am also linking to Rosie's circles challenge at
This is another hybrid piece, using my Matisse ladies cut
digitally and placed on a grungy background. I used the
photo of the splash and throw wall to cut them out.
Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday.
My drink is cappuccino, drunk from my new mug showing
Duisburg and the wonderful Lifesaver Nana from Niki de Saint Phalle
that stands there in the pedestrian zone.
I got the mug as a present recently
And today I have the last photos from my trip to the petting zoo/ farm/
museum:
This animal did not look dangerous:
This old 'manor house' was next door:
The old chapel was beautiful:
Have a great day, take care
and thank a lot for coming by!
Beautiful page for the challenges. Your digital piece is lovely, as is your new mug, the blue is so pretty. Enjoyed looking at the animals at the zoo also.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful post. Both pieces are fantastic. Love your men and the colourful Matisse ladies. Great photos as always. Try to stay cool! Hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pieces, they have a strong and modernist feel to them. I love the last of the animals so much too.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pages , a beautiful mug and great photos! Thank you for joining AJJ again, that is much appreciated! Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteIts a fantastic page for the new TioT's theme Valerie. Those men look strong, but like your added quote, I hope they have dreams as well.
ReplyDeleteIts a great hybrid page as well, loved the colourful Matisse ladies..
Your new cup looks colourful and looks super with your chosen drink for today.
The last photos from the farm are lovely. We went to an old manor house today, The one in your post looks great.
Happy T day.
Yvonne xx

Very cool numbers and letters page, Valerie. I love the quote you chose.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some lovely shots of the chapel.
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Love your Numbers piece! Your Matisse ladies look amazing too! That mug must surely cheer you up every time you use it - so colourful! Great to see the petting zoo and those curly horns especially! Happy T Day! Chris xx
ReplyDeleteYour men are adorable. I like the way you combined them with the numbers for TioT and circles for AJJ.
ReplyDeleteYour Matisse ladies entry is also quite lovely. I am always impressed with your beautiful hybrid pieces.
Loved the photos of the zoo. That animal doesn't look dangerous at all, and I got a big laugh out of it.
The chapel is so calming and peaceful looking. I would hate to have to train that greenery around the windows of the Manor House. The architecture is beautiful.
Of course, you know I would love to join you for a cappuccino. Any coffee beverage is better than tea any day in my books. But of course, I can't show favoritism, since I'm the host.
To answer your question, YES, I plan to make an ATC, and maybe even a few extras.
Thanks for sharing your awesome art, your lovely photos of the zoo, chapel, and Manor House, as well as your cappuccino for T this Tuesday.
fantastic silhouette art projects Valerie!! Such a fun and colorful mug to have your coffee in.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for sharing the animal farm and surroundings. Happy T day!
I never think of working with silouhettes and you do it so well. I know -- I'm a broken record. Sorry. And once again, I love the animal photos. I have a thing for sheep and goats!
ReplyDeleteStunning silhouette pages - the figures are so beautifully shaped, and I love how they work against the backgrounds. That's an amazing mug too!

I've enjoyed my visit to the farm and am kind of sad its over. Those donkeys the other day were my favorite. :) And what a cool new mug. I know you like the Nanas, and in a way, you've got your own view of them in your art today. I love these Matisse inspired figures-both standing and bending. Great post Valerie and Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
