Wednesday this and that

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, maps, I have another hybrid piece.
The Matisse ladies were fussy cut and placed on a splattered blue background. Then I overlayed it digitally with a vintage map (Wikipedia) and added the sentiment.

We had more storms here this afternoon. This morning when I took my walk I saw that the level of the water in the Rhine is still high, and has not yet started to recede:

The accordion player and a few other musicians always sit and play on Sundays and holidays:

And on Sunday there was a flea market. A lot of the shopkeepers joined in and sold off things from their shops at competitive prices, and a lot of private people also used the chance to clear out their unwanted junk treasures. It was strange to see so many people around on a Sunday.

On the way home I was able to admire the poppies in the fields:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. That piece Matisse inspired piece is one of really impressive. That could be framed and put on the wall Valerie. And that boat looks like party central with the painting on it. Its actually quite pretty too. Did you buy anything at the flea market? It must have been fun to poke through the crowd. Hugs-Erika

  4. I was truly impressed with these Matisse inspired ladies. The entire concept is wonderful and I loved the various layers you created.

That flea market looked like it would be fun to just rifle through. I'm sure there are things that would appeal to lots of people, even though I doubt I would have purchased anything unless it was paper related.

  15. Love your Matisse ladies combined with the map overly. Another function at your little town, a flea market. I could get into serious trouble being tempted to find a treasure or fresh veggies each week. You do live in a very interesting location with lots to do and view. Thanks for the photos of the red poppies. Enjoy your day, Valerie.
    Hugs,
