Hi Everybody!
Hope you are all doing well!
For Art Journal Journey, birds beasts and humans, and for Paint Party Friday I have another attempt at Van Gogh to share.
I tried to copy the portrait of his mother. The background is a brush-wipe sheet (A3), with added colours from pastel chalks. I drew and painted the portrait onto a separate sheet, painted it with water colours and pastels, fussy cut it, and fixed it to the background. The quote is also from Van Gogh. The black smudge under the portrait is my own invention!

That is a great portrait!!! Love the background too! The Heron looks pretty cold to me ♥ It was super cold here yesterday but it's much nicer today and tomorrow is supposed to be really warm ..UP and Down Winter is what we are havng here.

Beautiful artwork Valerie and his mum looks like should would have been very supportive to Van Gogh. I love that you left the black smudge to make it your very own.

ReplyDeleteWe are trying to get our house ready to sell. The real estate agent will come in for pictures and videos at the end of this week. After that, we can start packing up boxes. We expect to be in our new home the second week of April. It is going to be a very busy summer and I don't expect to get any crafting in until next fall.
Your art work just knocks my socks off - you are very talented but you do not me to tell you that!
