Hi Everybody!
Hope you have all enjoyed your holidays, whatever you have celebrated!
Today I have a wintry collage to show for Art Journal Journey. It is one of the DT projects I made for Gecko Galz. I used my giant journal again, and first of all textured the page with crumpled tissue paper and mod-podge. When it was dry I painted it with gesso, and added in the blues and yellows while it was still wet, and lots of glitter, which unfortunately doesn't show well! The images are from a Gecko Galz collage sheet; I printed them out in different sizes and glued them onto the page along with a few glitter stars and an angel. The text was computer generated. I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin.
Today I looked out of the window and saw the tree behind the back garden full of wood pigeons, and on one of the lower branches, a hawk. The tree is good 50 meters away, so had to zoom in to get the photos.
I had fun watching him and taking photos till he spread his wings and flew away.
He has very strong looking talons, too.
He really is beautiful
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love your Russian collage and the photos are wonderful, well done on spotting that bird! Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Valerie. Hope you've had a great day.
ReplyDeleteLove the collage and your theme with those gorgeous images.
Fabulous photos of the hawk. He must have already had his lunch - passing up on a tree full of pigeons or was he in the festive spirit!
Hugs Avril xx
Exactly what I thought!
Deletebeautiful wintry piece...and lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteSuperb picture of the hawk, I love seeing the hawk, but let's hope he's not a regular otherwise the little birds will be scared off, although it would be very nice to see him now and then.
ReplyDeleteYour wintry collage looks freezing, straight from Siberia, although the angel doesn't look too fussed.
Hope you had a super Christmas Day and are still having it.
I've seen him here a lot, but he wasn't always so obliging to pose for me. My day was fun and the cake was fantastic.
Deletelovely collage!!!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful collage--I love the Russian nesting dolls!
ReplyDeleteI always see hawks when we are driving on the highway--they are pretty large and easy to spot, but since I am always driving, not so able to take a photo!

ReplyDeleteLove how you did that background, and the colours look great!
ReplyDeleteNice collage with great texture. I have always loved those dolls. I remember playing with a set once when I was little. It may have been at school; I'm not sure. It just seemed magical to me as I took them apart, one by one, until I got to the tiny doll at the center.
ReplyDeleteHugs & smiles,
Teresa
The art is great but so are those hawk photos. Wow.

Winter with the trees bare is a great time to spot those handsome hawks isn't it!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are super Valerie. We get a big thrill when we see them waiting patiently on tree branches for their supper ;-)
Recently we visited nearby Washington DC to check on Christmas lights and such. To our surprise we found a hawk in front of the train station (Union Station). We got some fun fotos of him sitting on bird statues heads (imagine hawk on eagle head *gg*). Gosh you got me going...
Your matroshkas are so lovely on their winter background. I have a little collection of some wooden ones and am always drawn to them in every form and fashion.
