Inspired by again....

Hi Everybody!

We had a sunny but cold Sunday here, and I stayed home again. My temperature is almost normal. so hope to be able to get out again tomorrow, I miss my walks!

Today I have been inspired by several masters in my painting. I painted the background with water colours and oil pastels. The lady on the right is from Monet's 'Beach at Trouville'. In the original she is not wearing such bright colours. The clouds and sun have sneaked in from Van Gogh, and the grainy sand and water are inspired by pointillists, like Georges Seurat and Paul Signac, who developed this technique back in the 1880s. And the rest was made with collage and stamping to make a beach covering more than a century. I am linking to Art Journal Journey, Inspired by the masters.

Today I just have the photos taken from my living room - the gathering of the birds in the morning, waiting for their food - they are all watching my balcony!
Reminds me somehow of Hitchcock!

And here another happy fat ball party goer this afternoon:

Have a great day, take care of yourselves,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. Sorry you are still stuck indoors as I know you love to be out walking--hope you are fit by tomorrow.

Fantastic artwork Valerie--I just love the deckchairs. Strange that I was up very early and have just painted some sky, sea and sand for a journal page--we often do things alike :) My finished page won't be anything like yours though. Yours is such fun with everything for a day at the seaside.

Gorgeous pictures birds--nice to know you have visitors to keep you company

    Love Chrissie x

  19. Hope today your fever is gone and your sore throat much better. I would love to be sitting on the warm beach depicted in your journal page today. I could replace the grandmother reading the book.
Your photos of the birds are entertaining and the tiny little ones enjoy their special treat.

  21. Welch lustige Idee, die verschieden Stilrichtungen in einem Bild zu verbinden. Auf die Weise könnte man ein richtiges Suchbild kreieren. Das wäre doch mal eine spannende Herausforderung!!?
