Hi Everybody!
Thanks to all who sent good wishes, just knowing that other people care is a big help! Today I was out for the first time with Heike and we had a meal out, all very delicious. It's good to be getting back to normal again, but I must still take things very easy.
For Halle's 'I've got a notion' challenge at AJJ I have another sewing themed piece, very simple, but I like it, and hope that you do, too!
Especially for Erika:
The owl with his keeper:
Beautiful reflection:
Hydrangeas:
I am linking to Art Journal Journey, Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFFF
Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
I'm glad to hear you'r recovering. Maybe it's slow, but slow is better than falling behind. But going out to eat is always a fun thing to do. That's a cool piece. I love the fabric (or fabric looking background). It's perfect for Halle's challenge. And that cake is amazing. Next time I have a birthday I want it. :) And it's just like those hydrangeas. Wow. This is a great post. Have a great end of the work week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, have a lovely day!
DeleteGood to hear you are able to go out with Heike. Love your sewing art work. The David Zinn images are so clever, his imagination must be amazing, seeing how he places his drawings. That cake is stunning, it would be a shame to cut into it!! Look after yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! David Zinn is fantastic, I love his work! Have a lovely day!
DeleteLovely art and David Zinn pieces. Thanks for the funnies -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them, hugs!
DeleteIf those hydrangeas are real, they are the most magnificent that I have ever seen!! Love your funnies and glad to hear you are getting back to feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judee. I love hydrangeas, too, so beautiful. Have a great day!
DeleteLove your cute sewing patch Valerie and the chalk drawings are so much fun, love the funnies too...so glad to be up and running my new computer, still have some annoying questions, windows 11 is different and you have to log in EVERY time to EVERYTHING..so annoying..
ReplyDeleteluv CHRISSYxx
I hate my new laptop with Windows 11, I mostly use my old one! Good luck with it!
DeleteGlad you are feeling better. Your sewing machine and manikin go nicely with the fabric and sewing. It's a lovely entry for Halle's theme at AJJ. Loved the old age humor.
ReplyDeleteThanks E, have a great day! Hugs!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Glad to hear you are feeling better, but don't go mad and start overdoing things like you mostly do! You must keep a low profile and give yourself time to heal! Your post is beautiful, I love the funnies and your beautiful art work! Have a lovely and restful day! Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI haven't done anything today! Hugs!
DeleteI adore that sewing machine you have used and it works so beautifully with that bright pink cloth behind it. A very pleasing journal page Valerie which fits the theme perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you have been out and eaten, that is a sure step forward but take it slowly, remember you have been so poorly.
Great thinkies/funnies - going back for another look - I adore the Zinns.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet, I am taking it slowly, It's the only possibility just now! Hugs!
DeleteCieszę się, że czujesz się lepiej i życzę dużo zdrowia. Podoba mi się Twoja praca . Podziwiam pracę D. Zimna. Miłego weekendu:)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lucyna, hugs!
DeleteWhat a beautiful post with so many fun things to see and marvel over. Your art work is fabulous as always and I'm so glad you had the chance to go out with your friend and enjoy a meal again. I hope you are on the road to feeling much better soon. That cake is just amazing, oh my goodness! I can't imagine the time it would take to create something like that! Take care and have the best possible weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! I would never have the patience to make a cake like that! I am resting today and enjoying being lazy! Take care and have a good weekend! Hugs!
DeleteThe best news today, Valerie, is that you and the indomitable Heike were able to get together for lunch, enlivened by great conversation no doubt, catching up and solving the affairs of the world. Two women in a café in Germany could probably do a better job than the alleged leaders to whom we entrust such responsibilities. One of them can barely stay awake or string two cogent thoughts together, let alone express them. Those hydrangeas are amazing. Miriam has them out front and she is going to be blue with envy! Hers are plain white, and though doing well, are nothing compared with the ones you show here. We could hide in those plants and no one would ever know we were there. Stay well now. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteThanks David! I'm sure we could do the job really well! I have never seen such beautiful hydrangeas, either, really stunning! It might be fun to hide in the plants and see what happens! I hope you are doing well and enjoying lots of birding. Hugs, Valerie xxxxxxxx
DeleteYour photo selections are gorgeous today. Wouldn't you love to meet David Zinn? I would! What a creative mind. But most of all I am so happy that you were able to get out with Heike. Boy, sometimes just a day out is exhausting in itself but those times are energizing. Please continue to take care, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI would indeed! I am being careful, today I had a lazy day, lovely!
DeleteBeautiful artwork from you and David Zinn!
ReplyDeleteGreat funnies and hydrangeas too.
Hope you're having a good week.
Alison xx

DeleteI love sewing too! LOL I guess you probably already knew that! Great piece. As always love the extras you include in your posts.
ReplyDeleteYes, sewing is fun. I used to enjoy sewing clothes for my daughter when she was small, and every thing had to be pink!
DeleteI especially like the rabbit on the brick. I've never seen a hydrangea that big. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThat is a giant hydrangea indeed! Have a great day!
DeleteLovely page. My mother was a seamstress and it reminds me of her. The background color was her favorite. OMG, the hydrangeas! Glad to hear you're getting back to normal. Enjoy your day
ReplyDeleteNormal? When was I ever normal! Hugs!
DeleteGood outing with Heike. I love that cake but would omit the insects.
ReplyDeleteBees are so important for our survival. But I think Marzipan bees don't sting! I hope all is well with you and David! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteGood to hear that you are returning to your usual level of activity like going out to eat. I think some of those hydrangea photos had a bit of an AI assist, but they are still amusing. Maybe just think of them as another David-Zinn-type illusion.
