Midweek post

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well!

Today I have  pieces to share - one for our poetry challenge at AJJ and one for Michele's cat challenge at Tag Tuesday.  But before I carry on I would like to say how thankful I am to Sandie, who keeps the blog running and has given it a nice, new look. Heartfelt thanks💖💖💖!

This first piece is a semi-abstract piece I made whilst on a coach journey some years ago in southern Germany. I found the sketch recently, and worked on it with gouache to give it somed form and colour. I can see hills, mountains, rivers .... Can you see more? And the poem is from William Blake, another favourite from my school days so long ago.

And this happy and successful cat is for Michele's challenge at Tag Tuesday:

And a few funnies and pics from David Zinn:

The one about waking up when nothing hurts is too true for my liking these days!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  10. What a fabulous abstract countryside, Valerie, I love it! And that cat is definitely wallowing in his fortune, lol. My fingers were doing so well for a few days then I woke up today having slept wrong and they are quite painful. So it's my neck and shoulder causing it, dangit. At least that rules out some things. xoxo

    1. Thanks Aimeslee. Sorry to hear that your fingers are hurting, that's not good. Hope you get it sorted with your neck and shoulder. Perhaps a different pillow would help? Hugs and feel better soon!

  14. Your abstract piece is really stunning, Valerie. I too see mountains and rivers, and the whole vibrancy of nature, but I also see the amazing talent of a true artist. Your creations never cease to delight and impress. And to think you created this on a bus tour makes it even more impressive, as though it were a mere diversion to pass away the time. Better take more bus tours is all I have to say! I have been keeping a very close eye on my mail box, but so far no news from Germany. I will let you know immediately, of course! I hope that your aches, pains, twinges, jolts and irritations are at a low ebb right now, and will have the decency to stay there. Hugs and kisses - David

  17. Your abstract does have many hidden views. Love it. The happy cat is perfect. The cow speaks volumes about getting old and love the mouse in the tulip. Zinn is always a pleasure.
