Hi Everybody!
This weekend has gone by very quickly. I didn't visit blogs, I didn't go anywhere, I didn't do any housework. But I did try to join in some of the many free art courses which were being offered, and had fun painting, getting my fingers dirty, and eating lots of probably unhealthy snacks. But I enjoyed them, and had a great weekend, which helped me to relax. And that is the main thing! I am just choosing a few of the many lessons being offered, more would be too much! For this lesson we had to divide a large sheet of paper - I used A3 - with painters' tape into squares. We could choose up to 3 paints as well as black or white. I chose orange, yellow and turquoise- I kept my abstracts very simple. After I had pulled off the tape, I made some dots with acryl pens. Then I added a little cat to each square so that I can join Elle's Books, cats and tea challenge at AJJ:
This evening we will be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday drink & link meeting, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang:
Good idea to take time off and decompress with some low-pressure lessons. I hope you are soon feeling great.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae! It was just fun, and great to see how different each person's work was. I enjoyed being pupil instead of teacher. Happy T Day!
DeleteEine tolle spannendes Wochenende hast du dir bereitet und das war gut so und ich sehe wie es freude gemacht hat das Journalseite herzustellen bunt und süss mit der Katze !
ReplyDeleteHab einen schönen Wochenstart
Lieben Gruss Elke
Vielen Dank, liebe Elke. Es hat richtig Spaß gemacht zu spielen! Dir auch eine gute neue Woche! Alles Liebe!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Glad you had fun painting at the weekend. Must be a strange transition being pupil instead of teacher, but I am glad you enjoyed it. Here it was ready, the kids were all at Leah's, so I got some work done! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, I really enjoyed it. And the best thing was seeing the art of other people - same theme, but each one different! Have a wonderful week! Hugs to all!
DeleteVery creative art vj...cute cats
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashok, much appreciated!
DeleteSo pleased to hear you avoided housework and enjoyed lots of snacks and painting over the weekend. I hope you're feeling refreshed now as we start another week. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, I enjoyed my break. Have a great, new week! Take care, hugs!
DeleteI am glad that you allocated your weekend to relaxation and art classes. I am quite sure that the latter, for a Philistine of limited talent such as me, would be stressful, but for a practitioner of fine arts such as yourself, a mere walk in the park - so to speak. Actually a walk in the park would no doubt furnish additional inspiration for tableaux yet unknown. There was the Cat in the Hat and now there is the Cat in the Box. Bearing in mind that Theodore Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) created the most exquisite verse (a staple of my daughter’s childhood) to accompany his images and we are counting on you to do the same. Cat in the Box doesn’t have quite the same sonorous appeal as Cat in the Hat but I am sure you will, rise to the occasion and make it all fit. Perhaps it’s better in German? I understand you speak that language quite well, Valerie, so the choice is yours. I will anxiously await your next post to revel in the verse. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteAnd now you expect me to start writing verses for you? Oh dear, I had better send you a copy of my complete works so that you can bathe in my poetry! Perhaps the cat in the hat and the fox in the box will meet in the park and then learn to bark? - who knows? I enjoyed my weekend and hope that you was good too. Have a wonderful week, lots of great walks, hugs!xxxxx
DeleteSo glad you had a relaxing weekend and those cute creations with the cats prove it! Wishing you a great week ahead too, and I love the funny with the dragons.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I had to laugh at the nuts! Hugs!
DeleteBeautiful art and photos Valerie!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Alison
Thanks Alison, Have a great week! Hugs
DeleteGood morning Relaxing and art-perfect Happy new week hugs from the lake
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy, I'm going to have an easy week, too. Take care of yourself, hugs!
DeleteGuess what -- you are allowed to have a weekend just like that (and maybe even NOT the weekend, too!) and boy, isn't it wonderful? It just feels like no pressure and yes, perfect. I have to catch up on my online freebies, too. Maybe today would be good for that -- you inspired me. Love the cat art!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, I know I need to slow down and do less, but it just ain't easy! I'm enjoying the online courses, they are fun. I' m just choosing those I like. Have a great week, hugs!
DeleteA relaxing weekend doing what you love is good for the soul.Love your abstract journal page and vibrant colours-I can just feel the squishy softness of that little pup lol
ReplyDeleteCarol x
Thanks Carol, hope you enjoyed your weekend, too. Hugs!
DeleteI am glad you had a productive weekend and feel more relaxed now. We all need such weekends. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I need to rest more, and I'm trying to do it! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAlles Liebe und Happy T-Day!

Danke, liebe Traude.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was a good weekend, and I knew you would like the cat! Hugs!
DeleteLove these painting, the colours and the cat!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much whoever you are!
DeleteSo fun and cute with those little cats Valerie, love the bold bright colours, so much fun, glad you rested and enjoyed your days doing what you love..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Thanks Chrissy, sometimes we just need a break! Hugs!
Deletethose little cats are fabulous. I like how you partitioned your page, but most of all, I LOVE those cats. I would give anything right now to slow down, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment. Thanks for sharing this with us at AJJ using Elle's great theme.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your cappuccino. That coffee maker looks like it might have been AI. Of course, I loved the three raccoons and the cat together. So clever. Thanks for this great entry you shared with us for T this week, dear Valerie.
Sometimes we have to slow down, I am at an age where I can't do so much, and my various illnesses are getting worse. But I had fun with painting, and little cats, so that's something. And today I made some more! I am not planning on pouring colours over my coffee maker, at least as long as it still works!
DeleteOh no, did I end up in Spam again? That happens a lot to me. Loved the passed out pup. So stinkin' cute.
ReplyDeleteThat pup is really cute! Hugs!
DeleteHello sweet Valerie. I am glad you had a nice relaxing weekend. Your kitty abstract art is wonderful and fun.
ReplyDeleteSuper fun pictures and funnies too. I will pass on anything from the colorful coffee maker but it sure is fun. Maya and Atticus were wise, wise, wise.
Hoping you have a lovely and relaxing week. Happy T-day and hugz!
Thanks so much and happy T Day. My coffee maker is staying black! Hugs!
DeleteGlad to hear that you had your own time without doing other tasks. Sometimes we need such a good time. The little cat in this artwork is cute and creative. Beautiful art piece. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amila, happy T Day and have a great week! Hugs, Valerie
DeleteHi Valerie, sometimes it's good to just chillaxe as we say! I must say I have to force myself sometimes to get the cleaning done when I would rather be in my craft room.
ReplyDeleteGreat art work and as usual some good funnies,
Happy T Day Jan S
Thanks Jan and happy T Day to you, too!
DeleteSounds like a fun weekend for you, Val! I love those lil kitties and your page. Hope your week is a good one, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee, sometimes I need some me time! Glad you like the kitties in their boxes! Hugs!
DeleteI love those colors and the blocks. What a great piece. And even better you made it work for Elle's challenge with those little kitties. And happy T day. I noticed this post last night but I was tired myself and decided to wait and visit blogs this morning. But it's still T day, right? Smile. Have a great T day and new week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it's still T Day. I don't like commenting when I'm tired! You have a good new week, too, with lots of time for reading and painting! Hugs!
DeleteI see that you had fun painting. This is a fun piece of art. I do love the colors. All of your memes are brilliant as well. Have a very nice day today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole, enjoy your day!
DeleteI like the cat poses superimposed over the abstract backgrounds. And Happy T Day! lol
ReplyDeleteCats always know how to pose for photos!
DeleteHappy colors and I love all the little Inks. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteI thought you would. My Kitty was also black as night!

ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan, have a great week!
DeleteSounds like fun to just paint and take classes all week! That's one of my goals...someday.
ReplyDeleteYour funnies are great and I really like that colorful coffee machine.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Yes, it's fun. When I was younger things like this were not possible! Hugs!
DeleteLove those kitties. And yes, making time to restore and have some fun is Good Medicine - enJOY!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Rose. Have a great week!
DeleteSounds like a perfect weekend - one where you can please yourself and cook or not cook, sleep or not sleep. Am sure you know what I mean. We are at the caravan (home today) and it has been lovely just lounging about and eating out or just using the freezer food.
ReplyDeleteI love this lesson you did, it is something I might try myself when I get home and can use my paints. Your little cat is so cute and you have captured him in so many different poses, each one looking so realistic. Mine will probably be a stamp.
Take care and have a lovely weekend.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet, have fun in your caravan! I enjoyed this lesson, it was fun! Hugs!
DeleteLove your little cats and the colour choices for the pages. I also love your header with the cute kitties in it! Happy T day and Thanks for joining me for the Books, Cats & Tea September theme at Art Journal Journey this month Happy Journalling! Elle/Empire of the Cat xx
