Hi Everybody!
Yesterday we started a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time it was not my fault that we had some problems. Thanks to Sandie who helped get everything sorted, and now the blog is up and running. Our theme is owls, and we have wonderful examples from Sandie and Wendy to inspire you!
I made a very quick hybrid tag;
I am looking forward to seeing your creations at Tag Tuesday. You have 2 weeks to join us, and tags of all formats are very welcome!
And I have another still life to share, I'm finding it hard to stop painting these pictures! Same ideas, different colors. This is once again an A3 page painted with acrylics:
And some thinkies / funnies:
And some nice jokes for a good laugh - pass them on, make others laugh, too!
Tomorrow I hope to be back again with another piece for Chris's 'where in the world challenge' at AJJ - I am having problems keeping up with so many challenges!
Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, big hugs back!
DeleteLovely tag and poem. And I enjoy seeing your vases, they are shaped just right! We got only a breeze from the tropical storm, no rain. It went in south of us. Everyone I know was really disappointed. First time I can ever recall people wanting a storm to hit. Have a good week, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee. I have a lot of beautiful glass vases here, so get lots of ideas! Sorry the storm didn't bring you any
DeleteI posted too soon. I wanted to write 'any winds to blow away the heat'. Have a wonderful day , hugs!
DeleteI love your owls and your tulip in a vase. Owls hold a special place in my heart. Hope you are feeling less tired. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Deb. I love owls, too. Hope you are feeling better. Take care, hugs!
DeleteYou might know, Valerie, that the moment you have “Owls” in the title you have my attention! They are among my most favourite birds. They are hard to find, primarily because they are nocturnal, mysterious and certainly give off an air of being wise and all-knowing. That compares very favourably to most humans who are merely know-it-alls! Well, except for politicians who know nothing, and talk about it at great length only to prove the point over and over again. Let me tell you what I made for dinner last night. It was very simple but quite delicious. Filet of sole, with dill and a little lemon pepper, oven-baked sweet potato fries and green beans fresh from the farm, with just a slight drizzle of melted butter. I am quite sure you would have enjoyed it and if you had brought Heike along with you I would have made sure we had a small keg of non-alcoholic beer….okay a large keg. I didn’t even have a bottle of wine in the house, but a chilled Sauvignon Blanc would have been a perfect accompaniment. Next time I’ll be sure to shop ahead of time. It is so easy to prepare simple, delicious food - even for two. Miriam enjoyed it very much. What we will have tonight, I have no idea, but a I bet it will be good. Until the next time, hugs and kisses, and even more hugs and kisses, and hugs and kisses for Heike too. David
ReplyDeleteHi David, when you talk food you talk a speak that I have spoke, too, so I know what you are talking about! And it sounds very delicious. I mostly make jogurt and fresh fruit for lunch and a sandwich for dinner -not exactly fine cuisine, ist it? But it does the tric k, and that#s the main thing. I am lazy at the moment. (Yeah, sometimes I have very long moments!) I hope when our temps get back to normal that I will be able to cook and bake again. I love owls, too, but the owl here is elusive, I only ever hear it. Today I am so tired I need a sleep, so after I have done my replies etc I will have a rest. I wish you nice people, good walks, good food, good - well, whatevre you want! Hugs, Valerie xxxxx
DeleteGood morning from New Hampshire Valerie. Of course your morning has already passed. :) I just love that owl tag and the very wise words of the quote. There are some politicians ( and others) who like to hear their own voices so much they miss what everyone else is saying. And your still lives are really lovely. They are very relaxing to look at, which I can see why people paint them. And thanks for the link. I haven't tried to see if that works yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it does. I hope you're having a lovely week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGood morning Erika, I'n just about ready for my afternoon nap now....True, people who never stop talking can't hear what other people are saying....but they probably don't want to! Hope the link works for you! Have a happy day, hugs, Valerie
Alles Liebe!
DeleteI wish more wise people would speak out! I agree with the "open" image and that ignorance is the enemy. Why can't people see that? :(
ReplyDeleteThese people are blind to the truth, they wouldn't recognize it if it jumped up and smacked them in the face!
DeleteMore gorgeous artwork. Great words there too. I love the kids funnies though many of them would have been spoken with no fun intended, that's children for you. Wishing you a very happy and creative dasy. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela, kids are mostly very open and honest, and this is why we love and treasure what they say. Hugs!
DeleteI like the stardust in the owl picture. Pretty. I read the kids jokes to David. He was was slow to catch on. Haha.
ReplyDeletePerhaps he's not reverted to the childish stage yet....
DeleteI love the owl photo, it's so beautiful with its shades of blue and the golden elements. Also I love their expressions.
