Hi Everybody!
Once again, time has been moving quicker than I can, so this will once again be a short post.
Today I am sharing another still life - I am enjoying these pieces just now, and they help me to calm down and slow down for an hour or two, and that is good. I used the paints left over from my painting of PAWla Pink, and had a fun time creating layers, adding things, painting over it all again and having fun, and this was the final result, and I'm happy to say I like it!
Some photos from my balcony this week:
And my balcony garden, which is growing and thriving!
And some thinkies / funnies:
Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely art and I enjoyed your photographs ...
ReplyDeleteYour balcony flowers are doing so well.
Have a great weekend.
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, enjoy your weekend!💖👍
DeleteHappy weekend, Valerie! I enjoyed your art piece. It's vibrant and happy. And I love your thinks and funnies. My body told me that it wanted chocolate ice cream and I've just finished a scoop ~ lol!
ReplyDeleteYessssssss! Way to go!
DeleteGorgeous! the colours and detail of your designs are striking! Love the fabulous funnies and gorgeous happiness flowing here ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks dear Annie. Jetzt brauche ich coffee!
DeleteHi Val, good morning 🌅! Sorry you are so restless again, please try just resting- feet up, watch a film, slow down. That would do you good, too. I will ring you this evening. Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteOkidoki, today I stay home 🏡 and rest. Just reading and painting 🎨🖌️. Hugs to all!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie. I hope that you had a very good night’s sleep and that you woke up, leapt out bed and got ready to face the day. That’s the very opposite of still life so gracefully displayed in your art. Still life has been popular forever, it seems, the choice of artists, and continues to be so, and I suspect it always will find favour with the creative mind that sees beauty in simple things. (By that definition I am gorgeous!). But still life in Canada has a very serious connotation in Canada right now, where entire forests are burning, destroying trees and incinerating all the life that depends on them and the ecosystem they create. Dead are the moose and the deer, the insects and the young birds that perished in their nests, the squirrels no longer scamper through the branches, and the habitat birds will require next spring is gone. The entire city of Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories, has been evacuated, and with a slight shift in the wind and an increase in its speed, may be burned to the ground. People in Lytton, BC or in Maui know about that. Still life, indeed. A true testament to human arrogance and stupidity. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteThanks David!. In Europe there have been huge fires raging in many places, too. So sad to see such destruction everywhere, the world is in a bad state and I can't see it getting better. In the Alps they had no snow in winter and the glaciers are melting away. 😢. Big hugs! xxxxx
DeleteOh this is lovely Valerie. I like how you have all those circles in the back but yet they don't interfere with the vase and glass. You did do a super job with this piece. I hope you have a relaxing weekend with a bit of art, a good book and not feeling so tired too. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. I am having a really lazy day! Glad you like my still life, it was fun painting it, and adding layer after layer! Have a great weekend, hugs!
DeleteDein Stilleben ist so schön und auch die Fotos und all die Sprüche und Witze"
ReplyDeletePass auf dich auf und hab ein schönes Wochenende!
Lieben Gruss Elke
Vielen Dank, liebe Elke, dir ein schönes Wochenende! Hugs!
DeleteYour balcony is a lovely respite from stress. I liked your funnies today.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Indeed, flowers, green grass and trees, and a coffee here and there - all good!
DeleteYour still lifes have a wonderful Matisse feel that I just love. i can see why you enjoy painting them -- perhaps as much as I enjoy seeing them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. It really is relaxing. No stress, no challenges. Just having fun! Hugs!
DeletePretty vase. Your balcony garden is proof we can have flowers in even a smaller space :) You have a nice variety.
ReplyDeleteYes, the smallest space can be a garden. And I have two chairs where I can sit and drink coffee with a friend!
DeleteThat's a lovely still live painting and your views are just beautiful both in the sky and on the ground! I'm glad painting helps you feel calmer. The wisdom in your funnies is very thought provoking today too, but that last picture is just too darned funny! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! Painting and reading keep me sane! Sometimes I am just very restless, and then I need to do different calming. Not housework! Cats are always funny, my Kitty always found strange hiding places! Hugs!
DeleteFabulous still life and love all the funnies and nature pics -typical cat pic!

My balcony garden is doing better than last year, when everything died. I am trying to use different colours each time, and not just my fave colours - hard! Enjoy your Sunday, hugs!
