Happy Weekend

Hi Everybody!

Once again, time has been moving quicker than I can, so this will once again be a short post.

Today I am sharing another still life - I am enjoying these pieces just now, and they help me to calm down and slow down for an hour or two, and that is good. I used the paints  left over from my painting of PAWla Pink, and had a fun time creating layers, adding things, painting over it all again and having fun, and this was the final result, and I'm happy to say I like it!

Some photos from my balcony this week:

And my balcony garden, which is growing and thriving!

And some thinkies / funnies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Hi Val, good morning 🌅! Sorry you are so restless again, please try just resting- feet up, watch a film, slow down. That would do you good, too. I will ring you this evening. Hugs from us all, Sarah

  5. Good morning, Valerie. I hope that you had a very good night’s sleep and that you woke up, leapt out bed and got ready to face the day. That’s the very opposite of still life so gracefully displayed in your art. Still life has been popular forever, it seems, the choice of artists, and continues to be so, and I suspect it always will find favour with the creative mind that sees beauty in simple things. (By that definition I am gorgeous!). But still life in Canada has a very serious connotation in Canada right now, where entire forests are burning, destroying trees and incinerating all the life that depends on them and the ecosystem they create. Dead are the moose and the deer, the insects and the young birds that perished in their nests, the squirrels no longer scamper through the branches, and the habitat birds will require next spring is gone. The entire city of Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories, has been evacuated, and with a slight shift in the wind and an increase in its speed, may be burned to the ground. People in Lytton, BC or in Maui know about that. Still life, indeed. A true testament to human arrogance and stupidity. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Thanks David!. In Europe there have been huge fires raging in many places, too. So sad to see such destruction everywhere, the world is in a bad state and I can't see it getting better. In the Alps they had no snow in winter and the glaciers are melting away. 😢. Big hugs! xxxxx

  6. Oh this is lovely Valerie. I like how you have all those circles in the back but yet they don't interfere with the vase and glass. You did do a super job with this piece. I hope you have a relaxing weekend with a bit of art, a good book and not feeling so tired too. Hugs-Erika
