Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a happy and healthy weekend!
Today I have a hybrid piece using a handpainted background, a face from Gecko Galz and some numerals from a peel-off sheet. I am linking to Matilde's challenge at AJJ:
And for Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd I have some journal pages all published on my blog in 2014 - time flies:
A lino-print
Some van Gogh knock-offs:
And some 2nd on the 2nd photos from 2018 - a walk from the Altstadt to the old harbour and Post Tower:
This is the Landtag, the parliament of North Rhine Westphalia:
Getting nearer to the Gehry buildings and yacht harbour:
Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Your Van Gogh reinterpretations are interesting. I really like your walk around the town,

Thanks Tracey, art keeps me happy. I'm still struggling with my health, but I can still manage a lot myself and have a home-help once a week! Look after yourseld, Sweetie!
DeleteI love the dreamy look on that lady. It’s a lovely piece Valerie. And I remember all your fun look backs also. And it’s fun to see the canal and the bridge Iris of downtown again. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Erika, enjoy you vacation! Hugs!
DeleteGecko Galz. That sounds like a new dance fad, Valerie. Like to Gecko Galz with me? We will dip and swirl with the best of them, and I promise not to tread on your feet too much. Poor Van Gogh died impoverished and with half his mind gone yet his paintings, so recognizable, carry the worth of small kingdoms, and are the subject of shameless knockoffs by crafters and artisans. Who could have predicted such events? I like the ancient Egyptian stuff too. Those people appreciated birds so they must have been good folks. It was fun to stroll with you through the streets of Germany - lovely scenes. Enjoy the weekend. Perhaps dining out with Heike is in the cards? Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteThanks David, we'll have to work out the steps for the new dance. It's sad that so much art is being hoarded by the super rich, who just seem to want and want in order to possess things. I think we will go for dinner tomorrow as always. The route along the Rhine from the Altstadt to the Gehry buildings and yacht harbour is a lovely stretch. Have a great weekend, have fun! Hugs to you and Miriam! xxxxx
DeleteThanks so much Lin! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe artwork and photos are so wonderful to see. I must admit the wavy design of that walkway would make me dizzy walking on it. Just looking at it somewhat disorients me, isn't that silly? LOL TFS this wonderful post and have a great weekend too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, you're not the only one who gets dizzy loking at that wavy pavement. It's meant to represent the Rhine, but I always have to look straight ahead and not at the design. Have a great weekend, hugs! xxx
DeleteA fun look back though I think your portraits are a wonderful first for me. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ, have a great weekend!
