Hi Everybody!
Today I am sharing an A3 mixed media piece for Matilde's all about numbers challenge at AJJ. The background was painted and stencilled. The girl was drawn with soft pastels and charcoal, and splattered with paint. I added some stick on insects:
And I have some photos from a trip through the Altstadt of Düsseldorf, enjoy!
St Lambertus Church and the old castle tower, now a nautical museum:
I love this one:
I think this is art:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Nice art and an interesting trip through the town.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, have a great day 😊!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Here it's grey and wet, the sun has deserted us. But we need rain for the garden! Love your girl, I have a similar one here on my wall, your paintings are everywhere! Have a great day, take care, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, we seem to have the same weather ☁️☁️ here. Have a lovely day, hugs to all!xxx
DeleteFabelhaft das Frauenseite, toll diese Farbengebung und Hintergrund!
ReplyDeleteSo schön deine Fotos, ich habe Sehnsucht danach an diesen Orten!
Hab einen schönen Tag, Valerie
Lieben Gruss Elke
Danke liebe Elke. Manchmal gehe ich gerne durch die Altstadt! Heute bleibe ich Zuhause, habe Schmerzen. Morgen wird's bestimmt besser! Dir einen schönen Tag! Hugs 🤗
DeleteGorgeous girl and fab photos! Hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha, have a great day! Hugs!
DeleteI could say, "What a bummer" but that would be so crass I had better not say it. Otherwise I'll probably get a bum rap for humour, and then I would really feel bummed out. Better put this behind me. Such a great walk through town, Valerie, so many interesting sights. Did you take advantage of the kind offer to use the comfortable chair to rest your bum (ahem!). The picture with the skull and just the heads of the kids looks very spooky. I think I would have hurried past that display. I have a new iPad and I am having trouble with blogger on it so I am posting from my PC today. Later I will try to unlock the mysteries of this new device and see if I can figure out what I have done to offend Blogger so heinously. Wish me luck. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteYeah, what a bummer! Blogger is causing problems today, I keep reading 'Blogger is not reacting'. Have fun with your new iPad! Short comment, My shoulder is very painful, I'm bumming off! Hugs!!!xxxx

DeleteI do like your lady a lot Valerie. She is very artistic. And I like the background around her too. This is a super page for Matilde’s challenge. And thanks for taking us on a walk too. It’s fun to see places I haven’t ever been. I fly home tomorrow. I’m ready. Travel is good but home is better 😀 hugs Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, glad you like my lady. Home is always the best place to be. Have a good flight! Hugs!
DeleteHi Valerie, sorry I have been so out of touch. Just not feeling myself. I love your art. She is beautiful. All of those lovely photos. What a grand place to visit. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Nicole, I know how it is! Get well soon! Hugs!
DeleteI really loved this walking tour. The town is so beautiful with its wonderful architecture. I need to look up your locale on a map. Oh, what fun it would be to visit and see this lovely spot in person.
ReplyDeleteYou would love it here, so many historical places to visits, museums galore and nice eateries!
DeleteReally enjoyed your photographs today.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan. Have a great day 😊
Delete...Valerie, thanks for taking me on this fanciful tour, let's do it again.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. I will post another tour tomorrow for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour drawing is stunning! Great combination wit numbers as well 😊 Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe numbers are incidental as the naked figure is striking and draws all of the attention, except I have to say that the saying printed on the bottom makes it all meaningful. I love your photos of Dusseldorf, all of them. I love the Meerkat(that's is what it looks like to me) holding the #8 too. And interesting art ... or should I say art? Anyway, all of the pictures are gorgeous and the little old dog in the bicycle basket is endearing. No Funnies and Thinkies today ... I do miss them. And a response to a previous post ... if I could only take 3, I would choose Book, TV and cell phone ... all of which play a role in maintaining my sanity :) Stay well, Valerie ...

What a beautiful work of art you created, Valerie! And love the sentiment so much! Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos, too. The shops look very interesting, indeed!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sharon
Not sure you will see this, but I adore your nude. Love the subtle numbers, too. Definitely not in your face numbers because the nude takes center stage. It's perfect for Matilde's theme at AJJ, dear.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Loved seeing those shops and the great architecture, too. Clever unicorn.
A lovely entry for "Art Journal journey, fascinating background. I love how you have mixed the medias you use and the figure has lovely subtle colouring.
ReplyDeleteHow I enjoyed the trip through town, makes me long to visit Germany again.
Hugs, Neet xx
