New challenge at TIOT - snowflakes

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge  at TIOT, and our theme is

❆❆ Snowflakes ❆❆-

For my piece I made an A3 acrylic portrait of a reindeer with lots of snowflakes falling around him. I used shades of blue and green as I like  these colours, The page was inspired by a lesson from Tamara Laporte:

After a while the reindeer got fed up with standing around and being admired, so he wandered off, and tried to fit through a door that was too narrow for him. He got stuck and was then admired by even more people. This is meant for my doors challenge at AJJ:

And perhaps he's still there, who knows?!

Some photos taken on a wintry day:

Have a great day, take care.
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  10. Reindeer are so appealing -- I saw the ones in Svalbard which is actually quite close to the North Pole. You have added amazing color: the real ones are quite drab.

  11. I love your festive winter (rein)deer. He is certainly a celebration of the winter season. And nice how you digitally added and used it in that doorway scene. I bet those children were surprised to see him there. I hope your week is going well so far. Hugs-Erika

  15. WOW, that reindeer is adorable. He is so cute. Too bad he got his antlers (I'm assuming) stuck and couldn't get through the door. A great take on your theme at AJJ, too.

Your photos are wonderful and it looks really cold there, just as it is here.

  16. Ah, snowflakes. We had lots of them overnight, Valerie, and when our regular Tuesday group assembled for its walk today, a lovely wintry scene greeted us, with a temperature of minus five. All in all a perfect winter's day. Not to last, however, temperatures are supposed to get above freezing for the next seven days and if there is precipitation it will be rain not snow. How gloomy! We didn't see any reindeers on our walk, nor even a deer or two, but we had a magnificent Bald Eagle cruising up and down the river looking for fish for breakfast. We saw it make one aborted attempt so I suppose it was still hungry when we left. No doubt it will feed before the day is out. Tomorrow I will be leading another walk and a Bald Eagle or two would be a great treat for the group. I hope your fingers are improving. Have a great day. Hugs and kisses. David

  21. That green and blue work so well together on your reindeer. He looks absolutely magnificent standing there so proud - I think he is the head of the herd. I loved seeing him in various shots but then I got to the door with the people stood outside and realised just how wonderful an artist you are. Those figures are fabulous. A beautiful picture Valerie.
It looks cold down by the Rhine.

  24. Absolutely loving this fabulous reindeer you created Valerie and love how you added all the snowflakes. I would let him through my door anytime as long as he didn't make a mess.
It was a fantastic alteration to add the door and link to your AJJ theme as well.
Super photos well. Hope you are safe and well.
