Christmas Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing everybody a happy and peaceful Christmas. This year has been hard for everyone because of Covid, so I hope you are able to get together with friends and family and stay safe. I am planning a quiet weekend with lots of time for painting, reading and feet-up TV watching.

I made another journal page for my doors challenge at AJJ. I used a photo of a building in London. The door was already beautifully decorated for Christmas, so I just needed to add my Christmas man, a freebie from Pexels - men for nothing, wow!

And for those who like it more traditional, a vintage postcard from the Graphics Fairy:

And some funnies/thinkies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  9. Well, Valerie, you and I will be celebrating the weekend in pretty much the same fashion; in other words everything will be the same! In addition to the joy for some, stress for many is engendered by Christmas, and I am glad that I don't get caught up in all the hoopla. Miriam is of like mind too, so there is no conflict here. Thank goodness we don't have to prepare a huge meal for countless relatives coming later, all exuding good cheer, real or contrived! We will go for a walk in the snow, commune with a few birds, share a glass of wine together, and eat well. That's enough for anyone it seems to me. Even for that chap in the red suit in front of your doorway. Religion has fallen off the radar for most people (Thank God!) to such an extent that many people in a recent survey had only the vaguest of idea about the real origins of Christmas. Only 16% of Canadians practice any form of regular religious observance, across denominations and faiths. I think it has become Black Friday cloaked in red. Enjoy the weekend, however you spend it, and know that two friends across the sea will drink a toast to you tonight. No parthinogenetic birth, no wise men (where did anyone get that idea?), no straw on the floor, just good human friendship. That's enough for me. Hugs and kisses. David

    1. Thanks David, you comment made me laugh, so true! I'm spending the day in my pjs, no stress, just relaxing! Black Friday cloaked in red describes it very well! People give so much money out for expensive presents and they don't even know why. I've been watching old films this morning, and this afternoon I'll do some painting so that you have some more pretty faces. I will drink a glass of grape juice to your and Miriam's healfh! Hugs to you both!

  13. Love your thinkies and your funnies - especially the crafty funny - or should that be a thinie as it is so true of so many of us.
Your page for your journal is lovely, What a fabulous doorway you found for us on this special day and I love your Father Christmas. (I think he is quite a sexy one). The Victorian postcard is perfect for today and I hope you have had a lovely one yourself in Balconie on the Rhine.
    Happy Christmas Valerie.

  14. I'm really late to visit and wish you a lovely Christmas. I wasn't even on the computer for the past two days, as I was cooking with Scott.

I love your sexy Santa. He looks great in front of those doors. It's a beautiful entry for your theme. And I really like the vintage image from GF, too.

Probably my favorite funny was Santa telling the girl she had enough crap. He would DEFINITELY say that to me! I hope you had a great Christmas and are enjoying Boxing Day, too, dear friend.

  15. Thanks for the holiday wishes. I hope your day was wonderful. Mine was busy, but this morning it is wonderfully quiet. That's a great holiday page for AJJ. Santa looks like he's a fun partying guy. I had to read the meme with the night before Christmas poem to the hubby this morning. That made him smile too. I hope your weekend is going well, and even though you are in Germany, you enjoy your boxing day. Hugs-Erika
