Midweek this and that

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week got off to a good start. Time is flying and  I have been busy. Yesterday and Sunday afternoon we had warm and sunny weather and mostly clear skies in the evening with a wonderful moon. This morning got off to a good start, but was cooler, so more the normal temperatures for October - I'm not complaining!

For Tag Tuesday, autumn colours, I have another tag. I found a lot of Mr Umbrella man die-cuts in my 'autumn' box, all cut from the same painted paper, so one of them was used here. I mounted it onto a scrap of DP, matted with other recycled cards pieces in black and wood-print and sewed them all together with lilac thread. The raven is from Gecko Galz and there to remind us that Halloween is coming nearer....

The moon looks like custom-made for Halloween:

The sunrise this morning was beautiful. I stood on the balcony with my coffee, watching it and taking photos. I saw several flocks of small birds flying by, going south for winter, such a long journey for these tiny birds:

I saw this horse in Düsseldorf today - I wonder if the scooter is there as an alternate form of transport?!

On Monday afternoon I walked with Nathalie to the castle at Kalkum:

I saw the swans this morning while walking through Hofgarten:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. It is a long and hazardous journey for those little songbirds, Valerie. We can only wish them well and hope they make it and that there is food and shelter for them when they arrive, far from a certainty given the degree of habitat destruction that has occurred in recent years.

    1. Yes, it is, and I am always afraid for them and full of wonder that so many do make it safely.

  4. Mr. Umbrella man works really well in fall colors. Beautiful tag. And that is an interesting horse statue. I wonder why it has a hole in the middle. Is it artistic license/something symbolic or does it have some actual meaning? Hope your week is going well. Hugs-Erika

    2. All I could find out is that it stands on the place where there used to be a horse drinking trough in the good old days.

What gorgeous shots of the moon (and the colours you've captured)... I also loved the silhouettes of the leaves and branches against the moon backdrop.

  10. Beautiful photos of the moon and your walk with Nathalie. You two seem to have a lot of fun together. I enjoyed the horse and was interested to learn what you found out about it. And of course, seeing the black swans together made my day!!!!

Your tag is wonderful. Mr UM seems to do well in autumn related colors. And adding the raven was brilliant. Of course, I always LOVE your sewing.

  19. A good find was those precut Umbrella men and a good way to make use of those painted papers. It's lovely to see so many makes embracing Autumn another Tag challenge I've not been able to play along with but so many things need attention around the home.
Another photo with a random scooter within the shot, i'm wondering if I have missed the punchline along the way :)) That's a magnificent horse sculpture, love how you are given a different perspective looking through it.
    Sending Hugs Tracey xx
P.S I have to agree with those above, it is lovely seeing you in the photo's :)

    1. Thanks Tracey. Those scooters are electric scooters which people can rent over an app, and when they have finished with them they just leave them, mostly where others can fall over them, and sometimes so many that nobody can pass. They ride over pavements with them, injure themselves and others, and often cause chaos Our wonderful powers-that-be are now working on a solution....Why didn't they think it through BEFORE allowing them?!

Great photos, your weather did look good for walking. The poor horse with a hole in his tummy must have been very hungry. It was a fabulous statue.
