Hi Everybody!
It's weekend, enjoy! Looks like another grey and cloudy day here, so raincoat, cap and boots will be in action again for walks. But everywhere smells so good and fresh after the rain....
I Have one more tag for Sandie's challenge at Tag Tuesday.
This has been a fun challenge for me, as I love this time of year so much. I used a tag cut to 7" which I sewed to contrasting backing papers which were recycled from older projects. The background was coloured with distress inks and stenciled with a no-name stencil using all of the autumn colours. The leaf stamp is a 2 part one from Lavinia, the leaf is stamped first and then overstamped with the veins stamp in a contrasting colour. I used Oxide ink to stamp the sentiment. The embellishments are part natural, and partly from one of my 'surprise' boxes. They always surprise me, because they have strange mixtures of stuff packed into them:
And as autumn is still very much my theme, some more autumn pics.
The ancient town walls are always beautiful - can you see the little canon peeking over the wall?
The cormorant looking out for fish:
Fungi and leaves everywhere:
This was enormous:
This tree was watching me:
The raven angling for fish:
The heron catching little animals in the fields:
My favourite deer statue in Hofgarten always looks best surrounded by golden leaves and sunshine:
Beautiful leaves:
And my big feet:
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
God morning Val! It's grey and chilly here, too. Thanks for this lovely autumn journey today, loved your tag and all the wonderful autumn photos which fit so well. I like how your posts are always so well thought through and themed. The kids slept in today, so I had some peace and quiet, but later on we'r off to my mum's as always. Have agreat day, take care of yourself, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteSehr schöne Karte!
ReplyDeleteIch sah hier einen Fischreiher, niemand mag ihn...
Der Baum ist super/gruselig :-)
Raben... ohhh... Die Statue ist imposant, besonders mit den Herbst-Farben.
Ich wünsche dir ein schönes Wochenende, Iris :-)
Ja, der Baum ist richtig für Halloween!
DeleteThe colours on the trees seem to be reaching their peak, Valerie, and soon the branches will be bare. Very colourful in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteTrue David, some trees are nearly bare. I think the long, hot and very dry summer made autumn a bit earlier this year
DeleteSuch a beautiful autumnal tag! I love how you used the real leaf and the colours remind me of autumn days - perfect 😁. Wow, such an array of autumnal colours in your photos too, I so enjoyed seeing them all and the tree must have been watching you ...lol 😉. How amazing is that! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo, that tree was a bit scary!
DeleteI absolutely can see how you are enjoying this tag challenge as your tags the past two posts have been knockouts!
ReplyDeleteOh ,how I love the mushroom, fungi, toadstool pictures! Can't you just imagine the gnomes and faeries visiting after all the humans go to bed? heehee
xoxo
Good morning, your tag is fabulous!! and I enjoyed all these wonderful autumn photos-we are still at he beginning stage for fall colors
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend hugs Kathy
That's a gorgeous tag Valerie. I love making and looking at autumn art too. The little blue rose makes such a great contrast. And you sure do have fungi. This year we didn't have as much, which is unusual I think. But your photos are gorgeous and I would love to walk along the river and that see that view. Stay dry and warm. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. We have more fungi than usual, that's for sure
DeleteA beautiful tag Valerie and lovely photos.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
Your autumn inspired tag is amazing. The leaf stamp is beautiful, and I've never seen one before like you described the two stamp process. I like the layering and I like how the blue in the rose was picked up by the middle layer of your tag, too.
ReplyDeleteIt has truly turned autumn in your world. I absolutely adored the photo of the green grass with the yellow leaves covering it. The deer with the leaves surrounding it was beautiful, too. Most impressive photos of autumn as it has come to your world, dear.
I have several of those 2-part stamps, they are a great idea, and I should use them more!
DeleteLOL! Even your feet look great with those Autumn leaves :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous post, you've out-done yourself with these FABULOUS photographs.
I just love this time of year.
Your tag is perfect too.
Enjoy the weekend, whatever the weather may be.
Here in the UK, we've got wind and rain but it is interspersed with some sunshine, so I'm not complaining.
All the best Jan
Thanks, autumn makes me happy, whatever the weather.
DeleteYour Autumn colors are stunning! That brick wall looks like it was made for this season :)
ReplyDeleteYour tag is amazing, Valerie. Thank you for sharing with us the steps. They are a treasure for amateurs in mixed media, like me.
ReplyDeleteI lllllllove your photos, but especially the eye on the tree! It is really unique!!!
Happy Sunday, my dear friend.
Thanks Mia!
DeleteWhat a purrfect piece for fall. I love that splash of blue in it. That tree eye is down right spooky.

such pretty color leaves. Wonderful to make into bookmarks
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos of the leaves on the turn, and you've captured all that rich autumn glow on your tag. I'm glad I'm not the only one with "surprise" boxes... things I've tucked away because there's nowhere else to put them and then you find them and think, now where did that come from?!
ReplyDeleteAlison x
