Hi Everybody!
The witching time is coming nearer and nearer so I need to share some spooky pieces. Are you brave enough to enter this enchanted forest where lots of eyes are watching you and hands waiting to touch you? This is an A3 mixed media piece, using a paper napkin for the bottom part and acrylics, pastels and die-cuts. The trees just sort of drew themselves....
I am linking to Paint Party Friday and Rain's Art Date (Jack o'lanterns)
And I have another tag for my 'anything goes' challenge at Tag Tuesday, where one lucky person can win a prize. This tag was made using 2 of my own photos and some elements from Serif:
And some more autumn photos:
The street where I live:
Early morning:
Huge fungi which covered a whole tree stump:
A late rose:
And tiny toadstools growing between the cobblestones:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love how you incorporated those beautiful jack o lanterns for Rain's theme and Happy PPF too! Enjoyed the mushroom photos!
ReplyDeleteI'd enjoy a visit to your haunted scene, and I love your Dracula quote :) I'm liking your fall color until we get some of our own.
ReplyDeleteHope you get some soon!
DeleteThis whole post is a tribute to fall in all its splendour. The street where you live looks very inviting. I think we should all stop by your house for a coffee!
ReplyDeleteNow that would be fun!
DeleteHi Val, this is yet another WOW post, love everything about it, your wonderfully creepy creations and all the beautiful photos. I Have never seen such tiny toadstools, there must be very small fairies living in them! Have a great evening, I'm sure you have been out and about most of the day. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteOh Valerie, how fun! I am brave enough to enter (so I say now lol!!!). I love your first piece...especially the scared faces in the windows and ghost tree! There is so much to look at, I love the skeletons! Your "children of the night" tag is great, I get chills when I read that. It always reminds me of the 1970's version of Nosferatu, which is very bone-chilling!!! I love your Halloween spirit! The rose looks like it's trying so hard to hang on!! The photo of the horse pasture: Do you see what I do? The tree in the foreground looks like it's come alive and the branch is its arm! I love to see shapes in trees! :) Thanks for joining our art date!!! :) Happy PPF! :)
ReplyDeleteI just looked at that branch, you're right! What fun! Thanks!
DeleteMy goodness, a busy Halloween creation indeed ... and beautifully done. You certainly live in a beautiful, colorful neighborhood ... so much to see and yet so peaceful. You are certainly blessed ...

Thanks Andrea, True, I am very lucky to live here.
DeleteIf you were so inclined (heh), with that provocative opener you could easily right a short story to accompany those beckoning/tantalizing pieces.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason the fungi reminds me of gingerbread. But then I'm all things food:)
Hugs
Yes, they sell gingerbread here with white sugar glaze, very similar lookig. But I think gingerbread tastes better!
DeleteLove your art and love your photographs.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be a good year for Fungi!
Have a wonderful Friday.
All the best Jan
PS Hope your back may be feeling a little better now.
Thanks, I'm having treatment, and hoping it will get better!

ReplyDeleteHello Valerie! Oh, yes, time for spooky stuff is here! Saturday I am planning to watch a few scary movies....The A3 mixed media piece is fantastic. In Bremen gibt es einen SPAR/Edeka, der jahrelang Halloween-Shopping veranstaltet hat
ReplyDeleteWenn mich jemand anfasst... oh, nein!!!
Die Kürbisse sind super! Und die Katze :-)
Es muss schön sein, so dicht am Rheinufer zu wohnen.
Mein Bruder wohnte (in Köln) auch in Laufweite. Dir einen schönen Tag :-)

Don't worry, that happens to us all!
ReplyDeleteHello Val! Here's something from that singer, Rufus, to cheer your day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPK2qK-ToA4
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, he sings beautifully and I love Billy Joel and his songs!
DeleteBeautiful page and tag! You have captured the Halloween theme wonderfully with those spooky trees and bats 😀. The autumnal colours on your photos look amazing too and wow, those mushrooms and fungi are fabulous. We have had sunshine all well and now have rain for the next couple of days. Happy Friday and Weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a lot of fun making that Halloween piece. I'd be happy to walk into your haunted forest, because to me, it looks more whimsical than scary. (You can't hide your true essence!)
ReplyDeleteThose fungi are very cool-looking from the super-sized to the tiny. Fascinating growths, aren't they? I wish I were smart enough to know which mushrooms are safe to eat and which aren't. We see lots of them growing, but I'd rather trust the folks who sell them at the market than pick any of them myself. :)
Have a super weekend!
I like scary, but more sort of happy scary!
DeleteOmg, I love your enchanted forest! All Halloween creatures are well captured here! And your tag is amazing with the golden look!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel!

Hope you're having a good weekend.
