Hi Everybody!
Okay, I must admit, this time I have gone completely overboard with Halloween, but will start afresh on November 1st and hope to be back to normal by then!
This hybrid piece was made with a painted, dripped and doodled A3 background, which I then digitally altered using elements from Serif and Mischief Circus:
Same technique here. A painted, collaged and glittered background with digital additions from Serif - once again, I had great fun with this one!
And I have another tag for Tag Tuesday, once again with a Halloween theme:
And last but not least some of my Halloween pieces from previous years:
And now, back to sunny hours walking around the beautiful lake in Xanten:
The path along the east side of the lake reminded me of an old Roman road:
Water-skiing:
A Roman watchtower:
From the end of the lake we could just see the cathedral in the distance:
And back at the windmill in Xanten which was near the spot where the car was parked:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I think that you have really drawn on your inner child, Valerie, to come up with these amazing creations for Halloween. Well done!
ReplyDeleteSometimes my inner child just wants to play all day - this seems to be one of those times!
DeleteThanks Laurie, it was indeed a wonderful day of the sort we call here 'Golden October'
ReplyDeleteHi Val, good evening. I'm staying with the kids at my mum's till Saturday, they have a long weekend from school because of the bank holidays. Love all your fun and beautiful Halloween pieces, I know how much this time of year appeals to you! Great photos, too, you had a wonderful hike around the lake. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteLovely art and photos, I can tell this is your favourite time of year!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how....
DeleteMy two cents? What good is a holiday if you can't go overboard with it with your creativity. I love every spooky, delightful piece. And oh, that water! It looks wonderful. (Hopefully warmer there than here!)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's really cold and frosty here now.
DeleteFabulous nature pics ❤
ReplyDeleteBrilliant post and fabulous designs, trying to play 'catch up' after being away.xx
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun treat for Halloween Valerie. I seeing all your new art as well as the other pieces. You were clever on your tag by giving the skeleton only 1 eye. But good thing the sun comes out (in your photos) after all the ghosts and ghouls of your art. Happy Halloween. Hus-Erika
ReplyDeleteWonderful art work Valerie, you have some spooky owl eyes there! Lovely to go for a walk with you too.
ReplyDeleteSchönes Banner und gleich beim ersten Satz musste... ähh... durfte ich lachen :-)
ReplyDeleteHilfe!
DeleteWhat a wonderful Hallowe'en treat your art pieces are!!

ReplyDeleteOh how cool are your works. Have a nice day :)
Valerie,
ReplyDeleteOh you really got your creepy on this week! In your second painting, I like how you added those shifty, spooky eyes watching. You really put on a good Halloween presentation in today's post - love it! The day you photographed the lake was a a gorgeous one - fabulous captures! Have a spooktacular day, my friend!
Welcome Great Pumpkin #TADwR
Thanks Cathy! You have a creepy and spooktacular day, too!
DeleteHappy Halloween Valerie!!! Who wants to be normal anyway right? ;) Your art is gorgeous!! The first piece is so colourful. And you have a zombie!!! I love it, it's like a beautiful nightmare!! :) I love your witch piece too, the colours are awesome. I like the splatter of yellow too, very nice!
ReplyDeleteYour Tag is unbelievable, seriously, I loved it. Have you ever seen the movie Jeepers Creepers? Your ghoul reminds me of that monster! So creative!
Your lake walk is so beautiful. The lakes here will be frozen over soon, I don't think anyone would dare jumping in! Lovely post!!
It is my all time fave creepy movie, I watch it every Halloween!
DeleteThe first one is a bit scary to me. I like the witch flying in the second one.
ReplyDeleteThose sunny photos are lovely. It's raining where I am right now.
Have a lovely day.
Wonderful works and photos!
ReplyDeleteFreddy! Yikes! I like your witch better ;)
ReplyDeleteThose lake views make for a wonderful walk :)
Freddy is one of my faves!!!
ReplyDeleteAll kinds of spooky fun pieces.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween.

It was lovely seeing all your new fabulous Halloween projects and revisiting some you had made in the past. I hope you were safe tonight and didn't have any unusual folk knocking at your door.
ReplyDeleteThe lakeside views on your walk looked beautiful.

Ooooh! I love Halloween and your pieces are spectacular and such a joy to see! Wonderful photos too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great time to go overboard Valerie, there is no apologies for Halloween. Hope you had a good one, you have shared many delightful creations I especially love the tag.
ReplyDeleteA very quiet one here, spent the day with my MIL at a craft fair and no sight or sound of any ghostly callers during the evening.. Looking forward to a creative weekend once my Son comes to collect his little dog hee hee..
Have a super weekend Hugs Tracey xx
Goodness, you really did get gripped by the Halloween bug, didn't you?! Your three new additions to the Halloween collection are wonderful. Those luminous, glowing backgrounds are stunning to start with, but then your digi additions add stories to the atmosphere created and give the eye so much delight finding each little detail - the nightmare figures hovering in the flames of hell, those wonderful moon images, the tiny witch flying over the treetops and those creepy eyes everywhere.
ReplyDeleteAs for the tag, it's just fabulous... wonderful 3D collaging of all the Halloween ingredients. The winged torso is amazing, the little potion bottle, the witch's broomstick and the skull presiding over everything - brilliant!
You know I love your photos, but I think that's a long enough comment for today!

No, you didn't go overboard with the Halloween theme at all. They're all great! (But my favorite is the first one. It's deliciously scary.)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, dear lady.
I love this red and blue colors on your works, so bright! Have a lovely weekend ☺
ReplyDeleteSuch fun and spooky Halloween makes! It's hard to chose a favourite but I think the owl in his hat is perfect for me ...lol 😉. I hope you've had a wonderful week and wishing you a happy Friday and Weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteOhhhh you can NEVER go overboard with Halloween. I love every piece you created. It makes my heart happy to see it all.
ReplyDeleteFabulous tag.
ReplyDeleteWow, my brain was exploding with Halloween ... then you gently let me down with the beautiful and peaceful lake pictures. You are talented both in creations and your photography ... some of those lake pictures are "frame and put on the wall" good. Loved it all ...

Wow, Valerie! You have outdone yourself with your wonderful Halloween artwork. I love that you found a Roman watchtower amongst such a modern area. I love Europe for that how old and new mingle together. Beautiful walk and photos!
