Autumn trees

Hi Everybody!

Today I have an A5 mixed media piece, using distressed
canvas, corrugated cards and metal foil.
The foil was embossed in a TH folder, and then sanded. I added
the autumn leaves using various colours of gilding flakes. The
beads were sewn on to make some 'plants' along the bottom. I sewed
it all together, as per usual. I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge,
heavy metal, and to Yvonne's lovely 'Colour in my world' theme
at Art Journal Journey, which is now almost over.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday. Once again, I am happy
that I always have a good selection of not yet shown
creations in my 'store cupboard':

And some more Autumn photos from this time last year:

Thanks again for all the well wishes. I'm still feeling
rather tacky, but I think it's a tad better than it was,
so that's positive.

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Mellow Autumn

Hi Everybody!

For Yvonne's lovely theme of 'Colour in my world' at
Art Journal Journey I have a mixed media piece, 9 x 7". The main
image is from Gecko Galz and has been printed onto canvas, and then
sewed onto recycled and distressed cardboard. I added some
acorns and oak  leaves supplied by the trees in front of our house,
tied into a little bundle with some string.
I'm glad I always work in advance and have some
pieces ready to share!

For Paint Party Friday I am re-showing an A3 mixed media piece
made some time back. The BG was created with paints and brushos
and then stamped with my swirls stamp. The dragonflies were
stenciled, as was the title. The bird was painted, and the leaves
were cut from painted and embossed paper. The feathers were
added to make a nest:

And here some autumn photos taken in previous years, I have not
been able to get out this week. Thanks to those who sent well
wishes, they were much appreciated. I hope to be able to be out
and about again next week, but I will stay home for the
next couple of days:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Heavy metal and more....

Hi Everybody!

Thanks for all the kind wishes yesterday. I have bronchitis
and need to take antibiotics, but I'm hoping it will
soon go way and leave me! I am spending a lot of time in my
bed with my tablet for company, and am happy that I have
several ready crafted pieces, as I will not be doing anything
this week except reading and listening to music.

For Yvonne's 'Colour in my world' challenge at
Art Journal Journey I have an A4 mixed media piece, using lots
of recycled materials, sewing, and a gold skin made from acrylic
gel and gold metallic paint. When it was dry I stamped it
with Da Vinci's Leda (Lost Coast Designs), and sewed it to the
various layers. The gold/white metallic layer was recycled
from a chocolate box. I also added some cheese cloth and
a white feather as 'headdress'. Some metallic ribbons and
pearls were added as embellishments. I am also linking to
Simon Monday Challenge, heavy metal:

For Tag Tuesday, Joan's steampunk challenge, I have another  tag, once
again made with recycled card and stamps from Paper Artsy:

Some photos taken on my walk last Friday - Autumn
is coming:

And a bird's nest I found:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
