Hi Everybody!
Today we are beginning a new challenge at
and the theme is anything goes, with optional green.
You have 4 weeks to link your mixed media creations, so
hope to see you there. For my DT piece I made a pair of
8" tags. The background was painted with Vivadecor metallic
paints in olive and blue. Then I collage them with some scraps and
one of the paper napkins Sandy sent recently. The diamonds were
stenciled with bronze structure paste and then embossed with Frantage.
I added some scraps of gold leafing, and 2 figures cut from a recycled
calendar. And I love this Dylusions quote, 'If the young only knew, if the old only could' - too true! Some ribbon and paper and glass beads
were used as embellishments.
I am also linking to destination inspiration, anything goes
For Yvonne's lovely challenge 'Out and About'
at Art Journal Journey I made a hybrid piece, mixing some
digital embellishments (Daisytrail) with some old family photos and
a photo taken in an old village street near here. Bernie bear
is not riding carefully, I hope he doesn't hit those geese:
Saturday morning got off to a fine start:
The restaurants, shops and houses are all decorated
ready for spring:
The gulls are probably looking for spring:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Spring is in the air in your world and I am loving the gorgeous daffodils and colours in your post today. Your tag, well, gosh that's one amazing project. You sure are rocking these tags...Enjoy your Sunday.xxx[aNNie]
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pair of tags and AJJ page! I am enjoying spring in your area.
ReplyDeleteHa-ha- your digital piece is so funny and clever Valerie. I think if a bear bicycled down my street everyone would be out checking it out too. :) I am loving all the details in your tag too. Smart to add a little sparkle to it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

Congrats on being a new DT for this mixed media blog. what a great first entry, too. I loved the dual tags you created and I'm starting to feel the second part of the quote.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the bear on the bike. He was on a disaster course with the geese. I loved the humor in this piece and how nothing ever happens in the country.
Flowers are screaming spring, so I am ready for them to pop up at my place. Have a lovely rest of the weekend.
The pair of tags is amazing with so much texture added on the background and the old/young and female male combo--beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the out and about page with all the mixtures. Looks like things do happen but no one notices.Great to see some of your own photographs--I did something similar yesterday--wait and see.
Beautiful photographs of the arrival of Spring and it is wonderful how the shops where you live always decorate outside as well as inside. I think there is some law her that prevents our establishments doing the same and it is such a pity they can't.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Love your tags Valerie and thank you..Hugs Lozzy xx

Hi Valerie I really like this mixed media piece and a great start to the new challenge. The digital piece is wonderful and brought a smile to my face. Well done on that. Lovely photos too. Have a very nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for spring. It seemed to be on its way last week, but the past 4 days have been in the single digits and very windy. I hope all the buds that were starting survive. I can't wait to get out in my garden again. Love seeing your photos and your tags and artwork. Love the mix of colors used for the tags!
