Hi Everybody!
I met a bunch a strange people waiting for the tram to take
them into the town for the carnival parades Today.
One group, all men, were dressed as 'Queen Elizabeths',
all beautifully decked out in pastel colours, wearing tiaras,
carrying handbags and skilfully made up - they looked
great.
I have another 12" mixed media tag to share, this time made for
Go Tag Thursday, turquoise and brown. I used some DP
for the background, and cut some cogs from cardboard, which I painted with turquoise and embossed with Frantage EP. Tim's bird branch was cut out twice, Once in turquoise and once in brown, and placed over each other so that a narrow brown 'shadow' remained. I used some nature decorations mixed with fibres and fabric roses in turquoise. I sewed the various layers
together again.
I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, transport - cogs and the bird transporting a branch.
These rusty statues are in a garden near the castle ruins:
The ruins have decked themselves out in spring flowers:
The buds are getting bigger:
The hospital gardens are full of crocuses:
Some shops are decorated for spring:
The lingerie shop has added carnival masks to the shop-window
mannequins, which gave me some very surreal pictures:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Fantastic tags, your tags are always really special. Love the pics, especially the shop windows! Kids are still sick, catastrophe! Hugs, Sarah

You have spring. Hurrah! Lucky you. Your tag is perfect for that with the singing bird. đI love how you added the gears to it. Enjoy those beautiful crocuses. And the revelry as it makes an interesting trip on the tram I am sure. Hugs erika
ReplyDeleteA fabulous tag, I love how you did the bird branch. Your photos are lovely, the weather isn't very springlike yet but my crocus's are flowering and my daffodils will be soon.

xxx Hazel.
I can't imagine what happened to earler comment on this post Valerie though i dig get a flag from Google saying certain people had been signed out earlier so I guess it was when I tried to post a comment

Sabine

What a treat today...your art and spring bursting out! Your photos are exceptional and when I look out our window there is still a little snow from the morning flurries. I love the photos you take with reflections in the glass shop windows.

Loving all your photos. the snowdrops are awesome,my favourite flower...and those mannequins are fantastic...
A great tag today and I love all of the SPRING photos ♥♥♥ I really need to plant some snowdrops and crocus. I had some once upon a time but critters must have eaten them :( The shop windows are fantastic. Great photos!!!
ReplyDeleteyour tag is big and glorious! a wonderful sentiment and it is beautifully dimensional. i wish i could have seen the queens! xo
ReplyDeleteI love the tag and all the other amazing photos. Would have loved to see the Queens though -- that had to be wildly fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, perfect tag. Love the colors and mix of textures.
Just love your tags.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the Spring flowers.
Those carnival masks in the shop-windows are great
All the best Jan
Your tag wowed me. I loved how you offset the turquoise with the brown just enough to offer a suggestion. It's beautiful and so well done.
ReplyDeleteOK, you had me at rusty statues. Now I KNOW I want to go there (grin). They are beautiful in their abstract and unique way.
Loved your signs of spring and of course, all the flowers that are in bloom. It turned really cold here, so all growth has probably stopped or been stunted.
The Mardi Gras masks through the windows were almost surreal. I really enjoyed them against the backdrop of the surrounding buildings.
Wow, loving your tag!! The kraft and blue work so well together and I just love the birdie on the branch cutout! Fabulous photos, the ruins are so interesting. Canadians don't seem to care much for ruins apparently. I've searched high and low for a place like that to do photo shoots. Seems when something gets old here, we rip it down to make room for condos. lol. hugs :)
ReplyDeleteTotally beautiful tag Valerie! I so love the blues, they make me feel spring!! Speaking of spring, the beautiful snowdrops and crocuses and other blossoms...oh y! What a joy to see, even if in anthers backyard,if not my own!
ReplyDeletehugs,Jackie
Great tag - loved your pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteWhat? No pictures of the men!!!!!
