Hi Everybody!
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
For Linda's lovely challenge, '50 shades of red' over at Art Journal Journey I have a hybrid piece, combining a collage/painting with a
background from Gill and a filter from my stash
For Sandie's Go Tag Thursday I have a sideways tag today,
the theme is cogs and wheels. I tried to stage a Victorian station
with lots of locs (Lost Coast), and some strange figures from Paper Artsy. On the other platform, almost hidden in the steam, you can see the Bronte sisters.
I am sharing some more photos from the Town Museum,
especially of these wonderful ovens and chimneys, some
with wonderful blue Delft tiles:
And I liked this organ - perhaps instead of a hi-fi sound system?
We had a lot of clouds passing through yesterday,
but it stayed dry:
My fave flower shop has moved to a new location with more space:
Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love the Buddha page, and the quote, so true. The tag is fun, love those strange ladies, and a clock-face is really practical, isn't it - nobody would need to ask the time. The ovens in the museum are wonderful. Great photos of the spring flowers, too. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteWonderful Buddha page and the oven chimneys are over the top beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the flower shop displays all the pretty flowers in baskets, I would have a hard time passing by that shop.
The Buddha page is fabulous and I love the quote too.
ReplyDeleteThe locomotive themed tag is awesome. Love those almost hidden sisters. :)
Look at all those chimneys and ovens. Wow! So unique and interesting.
Happy weekend!
~Jess
I love your Buddha page (and I forgot to say how much I liked your London page too!) I love how you layered that tag - great details! The museum has some lovely ornate pieces - I loved seeing the organ!
ReplyDeleteThe display at the florist is so beautiful - I don't think the florists here spend a lot of time on their outdoor displays! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Chris

Ich hab auch Narzissen auf dem Tisch!
DeleteWhat lovely artworks, I love the quote and the tag is especially beautiful. Your photos were also wonderful to see.
ReplyDeleteAmazing page with wonderful colours and a beautiful quote.
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting tag telling a whole story in pictures. What interesting things you added to it.
The town museum looks fantastic and I wanted to touch the relief bits of the walls and pillars
Good to see the plants at the flower shop with so much space so they can be displayed to look their best
Hope you feel ok today and sleep well
Love Chrissie xx
The page looks awesome, such rich colours and a lovely quote.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much detail on the fantastic tag, I sat for ages looking at it.
I loved the chimneys and ovens, it looks a fantastic museum. I think maybe the organ would fill the room with sound, but perhaps its not for our smaller modern style of housing, wouldn't want the neighbours to complain about the noise.
Beautiful flower displays outside the new shop.
Yvonne xx
True, the organ would not have fitted into a normal home, it was huge!
DeleteLovely page for AJJ and pretty sideways tag. Enjoyed your Town Museum photos too. Glad the flower shop has more space, a good thing.
ReplyDeleteAll those gorgeous spring flowers outside of flower shop-swoon! It makes me yearn for spring. I really love the fireplace too. Its quite beautiful. Loving the Buddha, with his very wise words and also your tag have some cool images. :) Hope its been a good weekend so far. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely and grungy page for AJJ and a cool tag. I wonder where the Bronte sisters were going on their day out.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - loved looking at the museum ones especially, but I spend too much time wondering how they made this and that _ I'd sit here all day and get nothing else done ha ha
Would have love to have tried that wonderful organ out - sadly no room here for that as we already have 3 keyboards in our lounge :)
Happy Sunday.. Gill xx
The Bronte sisters were visiting Jane Eyre....
Hugs
Sabine
Your Buddha piece is beautiful and so perfect for today.
ReplyDeleteAnd your tag ,Valerie, I am so digging on the characters you have added to it- very cool!
thank you for the beautiful photos you've shared, the tiles are exquisite as is the plasterwork!
hugs,Jackie
Lots of lovely eye candy here but your sideways tag really captivated me. I like the elements you used and the side angle is a refreshing difference.
ReplyDeleteI love flower shops, the colour, the scent ...
ReplyDeleteI also like the organ photograph you've shared, great colour.
Your Buddha piece is great too.
A lovely mix in your post, thank you
All the best Jan
your posts are always filled with so many fabulous things Valerie! LOVE your peaceful Buddha page along with the sentiment. Your tag is super with all those elements and layers, and who doesn't love going through a museum like this? Thanks for sharing it all with us!
ReplyDeleteBuddha never looked so good. This is super and the sentiment makes so much sense.
ReplyDeleteThe tag was fantastic. I love the dimensionality of it, and the various layers you put together.
I really enjoyed the trip to the Town Museum and I was in awe of the blue Delft tiles. The column and the room were fantastic. In fact, the gilding on the column looked like it was on fire.
I really enjoyed seeing your new flower shop. Too bad there was already graffiti to spoil the view. Hope you are having a wonderful day.
I love your journal page - the sentiment lives in my heart always!
ReplyDeleteI also love the Bronte sisters - in fact I watched the movie Jane Eyre on television last night. Of course my favorite is Withering Heights.
I see why this is your favorite flower shop -- they have lovely things!
Sandy xx
I have read that sentiment before and it is oh so true. I think it was a Buddhist monk when we went to Thailand years ago and he took us on a tour. Love page and post today.x{aNNie}
ReplyDeleteWell I did it - I knew I was wrong when I did it but did it anyway - that should be "Wurthering Heights"
ReplyDeleteOh how I hope Miss Bronte will forgive me!!
sandy xx
I am sure she would have forgiven you!
DeleteWow, your Buddha piece is gorgeous Valerie, the colours are glowing. Your tag is such a great fun piece too xx
ReplyDeleteYour art is amazing my friend! I love the red piece with that quote! Very meaningful! Your tag with the train is AMAZING!! I love your photos inside the museum! WOW! I want to go to that flower shop! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Tag Valerie..perfect for this weeks challenge at Go Tag Thursday...x
