Hi Everybody!
For Art Journal Journey, Linda's lovely theme of
50 shades of red I have a hybrid piece:
And I made a journal page with many layers, one over the other, using stamping, stenciling and collage.
And I have some more pictures from the
Otto Dix Exhibition, 'The evil eye'
His self-portrait:
Heinrich George, an actor:
Some pictures influenced by war:
And the lady on the leopard skin:
The view from the Museum's Cafe into the museum:
And the view from the window:
My wonderful coffee:
Outside the museum:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Lots of loveliness again today. Great red cat page and love all the layers and details in your journal page. I would so love to see that exhibition, perhaps I can escape one day when P is home. Have a nice evening, hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love the cat piece! There are so many beautiful layers on your other piece and the view from the window of the museum is lovely.
ReplyDeleteGreat creativity again.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'm a fan of the exhibition .... but fully a fan of the coffee
A lot of his paintings are not things you can like, but they are mesmerizing, fascinating, and seem to draw you in....
DeleteVery true
DeleteYou have certainly got cats summed up correctly and they look so regal in red.
ReplyDeleteStunning artwork on the flower page and great use of the white dots.
What wonderful characters on the paintings. There are so many different styles. The building is amazing and it is so good that you get a good coffee there as well
Sleep well
Love Chrissie xx
That's so right about cats, looks good, and your layered piece is fantastic too with its amusing words.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well. We've been having computer problems.
Poor you!
DeleteLove the red cats, its a fantastic page and cats do seem to keep their own rules.
ReplyDeleteI love your stunning layered page , the quote is fun and I hope you don't mind but I have added saved it in my note book.
It looks a delicious cup of coffee, but I still have mixed feelings about the eyes in these paintings.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine - your coffee does look very refreshing
All the best Jan
I am amazed how versatile Otto Dix's work is. These are really interesting-I think he had a sense of humor too. And you have a good sense of humor too with those 2 kitties-how true! The layering is pretty nice too! Hope it was a good day and tomorrow is even better. Hugs-erika
ReplyDeleteHa, I think I need that "exceeding the limits" saying as my own at the moment :-) Those cats certainly are regal and demand attention. And more art and museum pictures - lovely. Well, I'm not sure I find all the paintings lovely, perhaps "interesting" is more the word! Thanks for the art education. Theresa

Yep, cats never forget they are gods. Just ask my two! This AJJ entry spoke to me. I think it's adorable.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much depth to that tag, I kept staring at it. I had to laugh at the sentiment, though. Is that a statement on your lifestyle (grin)?
Great photos from the museum today. I especially liked the view from the window and the coffee/cappuccino.
Fantastic post Valerie. Your first two pieces were fabulous and the quotes really made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos from the museum - especially the quirky ones.
Hope you're having a good week......... Gill xx
Ha! Great pieces!
ReplyDeleteSome of Dix's work I like but much of it really creeps me out. But he does get a reaction and that's what it's about.
Have a good one.
