Hi Everybody!
Today we have a new challenge starting at TIOT,
'Use a stencil'
As always, projects of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to get creative and link your work. There are lots of great examples on our blog to inspire you! My journal page is also meant for 'Time' at Art Journal Journey.
I used one of my own backgrounds which I scanned and printed and placed on an A3 page. I used pan pastels in yellow and red to colour the edges of the paper. I used 2 different alpha stencils for the lettering, and one of Dina Wakley's people for the floating man, who I painted in white. The dragonflies and clock were stamped. I used a die cut flourish, painted and sparkled with Stickles, but used it first as a stencil which I outlined with a white Signo pen before gluing it to the page. The butterfly was in my stash, and fussy cut before fixing it to the page.
Our challenge at Tag Tuesday is correspondence. I made a quick tag with some stamping and Mr Umbrella Man, who has been dressed in postage stamp look, the newest trend.
Today I am showing the rest of the photos from my Sunday walk.
This Egyptian goose was having a doze in the sunshine:
I walked back through the fields
The ramshackle shed is still standing:
And the brown cows were not interested in anything apart from grazing and chewing the cud:
I love how the apples are growing over the wall here:
The tree mushrooms are getting bigger and bigger:
The moon was shining bright again in the dark sky
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
lovely page and tag for the themes! What a stunning moon!

You used the postage stamps so beautifully on your tag.
You've inspired me again.
I must pop out to the market and get back home before it is too hot and humid to breath.

Wow! I love the vibrant page with that really cool butterfly and Umbrella Man is just amazing on that background. Two awesome projects! Gorgeous photos! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis latest art journal page is stunning. I adore the way you used the clock to represent the butterfly's body. It is beautiful. Of course, I'm a big fan of Time, so this spread speaks to me. I'm not very good with stencils, but I'm going to try using them one more time at least.
ReplyDeleteAs always, your photos are simply wonderful. I so enjoy seeing them each time I visit.
BTW, I'm also a coffee drinker, one who drinks it 24/7. Yep, I'm an addict and know it, as caffeine is my drug of choice. That's why we now call it T instead of Tea. We tried to keep the original concept, but changed the name so any drink, any art was acceptable.
Not sure which I like better-your journal page or tag. I like how your journal page has that great frame edge and those cool stencil letters. And it almost looks like mountains in the background. And your postal tag is really cool, did you base it on of your pages? Hope you are enjoying a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteNo, I just made it, I have had a lot of practice making post stuff!

Your floating man is quite mysterious and I like the little dragonflies and the twirly plants.
ReplyDeleteI would use Time well if I could actually catch it, but again it has got away from me.
Mr. StampUmbrella Man is fun, and it was clever of you to make him.
You need to run faster!

My fav part of your Time Flies... is that you used the flourish as a stencil as well as itself. That looks so unique at the bottom of the page - two of the same only so completely different. Plus I'm all about the orange color. And the umbrella STAMP man.... sooooo love him.... the stamps, the colors... just wonderful - wow. Loved seeing both of these. And VERY incredible pictures - love that goose - soooo beautiful and the shroom tree - seriously!!! So happy every day seeing your "world" Valerie. Xj.
