Hi Everybody!
It's Friday already, where did the week go?
For Art Journal Journey, the sea, and Paint Party Friday I have another journal page to share. The background was painted with blue, green and a remnant of gold left in the ink bottle. I drew 'my'head with my white pen. The ship (LaBlanche) was stamped with embossing ink and white embossed, the gulls were collaged and the smaller birds drawn. The fish was also collaged. The poem is from Thomas Love Peacock.

I woke up about 4 AM this morning, and sat on the balcony wrapped in a blanket, and watched the dawn and the sunrise. The waning moon crescent was also hanging in the sky, seen from my perspective it looked like it was hanging in the tree.
The weather was quite chilly, but sunny, so enjoyable for walking.
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
That's a very evocative piece. A wonderful choice of poem and those deep, deep colours speak of ocean depths and brave journeys. Truly splendnd! Thank you for sharing your walk again - it looks serene and peaceful! Sending hugs from Shroo:)xxx

With your embossed ship and dark background it almost looks like a ghost ship or a dream ship. I really like it. The white ship and collaged critters really pop off the background. Your sunrise shots are gorgeous. I love watching the sun come up, and even though it was chilling it sounds like a really nice way to start your day.

Hi Valerie, great page! The poem over the wonderful background is beautiful. Wonderful walking pics and that moon is stunning. Looks like you are having some pretty weather. It's still raining here.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.

This is so good with the vertical lines of strong lovely colours giving the look of deep under the sea. Maybe the wonderful gold ship is a shipwreck? But then the birds are flying deep too, terrific birds by the way.
ReplyDeleteThis is a mystery and another of your amazing paintings.
Very mysterious and beautiful sea page....I love the ship so much and how it sparkles and shines with so much buried treasure inside it. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteWonderful! When I first got here I was looking and I just could not see the face and then all of a sudden there it was! I love that, it is like one of those mystery pictures, the more you look the more you see! Thanks so much for linking to Art It Friday - Show Your Face and for the shout out too. Happy PPF too :) Kx

ReplyDeleteWonderful Sugar! I love the background colors!!! I had a nice little laugh. When you said you drew "your" head I had another good look around your journal page and couldn't see "your" head. And then all of a sudden there it was - bigger than life. Ya gotta love that ship - it looks like a ghost ship.
