Hi Everybody !
Here's wishing us all a great, new week! Today I have another piece for Vicki's 'light' challenge at AJJ. I used a photo of a wall, where layers of plaster and paint had been removed to reveal the frieze underneath. The quote from Plato is also very true:
And I have some more tags for my 'Be my Valentine' challenge at Tag Tuesday.
The first is a huge tag, about 10 ":
And a simpler tag for those who prefer it this way:
And another one - I have been enjoying playing with tags again:
I took this photo through the window on Saturday after getting out of bed. I love how the raindrops look like gold glitter:
And some thinkies / funnies:
I am not joining in TsfT today, as I have a lot on my plate again, but I am sending my best wishes to Elizabeth and all of the nice ladies of the T Gang:
Have a good start in the new week, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Didn't the weekend fly by!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday and a happy new week too.
I do like your tags and love the photograph from your window.
Yes, the raindrops do look like gold glitter.
All the best Jan

DeleteLovely art and fun thinkies Valerie! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Christine, hugs!
DeleteHi, Val. Finally got a tag made for TT. Delightful blog header (new?), AJJ page and TT tags. Love the polkadotted paste and also the feathers! Hope you get your plate cleared off with some energy leftover to relax with! Happy new week, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee. The blog header is not new, just fits the 'light' theme. I like using my photos. I hope I soon get my plate cleared, too! Hugs!
DeleteI love the explosion of color on your fabulous tag and those golden raindrops really are beautiful in the photograph too. Wishing you a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, I love these colours!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. I'm late again, story of my life! Love your beautiful art and photos today! Great funnies, too. Have a great week, hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI remember you being on the naughty step at school because you were always late! Hugs!
DeleteThe only tag I have any acquaintance with of late is a tag on my shirt that was irritating me, so I cut it off. Immediately I felt I had become a crafter, scissors in my hand, working with tags. I was transported to hitherto unexplored realms of delight. Then Miriam broke the spell with, “You need to put the garbage at the kerb, Dear.” It’s an instantly recognizable sign for husbands the world over that when a wife uses “Dear”. That’s how you know it is serious business with no room for compromise. So my tag enterprise was short-lived, but at least the irritation is gone. I think that the poor people in places like Bangladesh who make these garments, under conditions that are a disgrace to the western world, deliberately sew them in places where they are guaranteed to cause discomfort. And who can blame them? It’s probably the only satisfaction they get from their job. Yesterday, for a brand new book which perked up my interest in several ways, I was reduced to using a couple of bookmarks from the local Member of Parliament, a woman of little utility I must say, but one does what one has to do sometimes. I have shamelessly and frequently hinted that some kind artiste might send me an original or two, but no one has responded. On 27 February it will be my birthday and an original bookmark or two would be lovely. I will give you my address any time. There, that’s about as shameless and craven and crass as it gets - but I do love bookmarks that bring me pleasure as I read the books. Inspirational words from my MP, lies thinly disguised as cogency in fact, just don’t do it! With that, I send you copious hugs and kisses, and were I close by I would deliver them in person - daily! David
ReplyDeleteOh David, you poor thing, only scratchy shirt tags. I often have those, too, they are not my thing. I sincerely hope that your outburst, your heartfelt plea for bookmarks and tags will receive a hearty response, and that arty tags will rain down on you by the 27th! MPs rarely have wise words, so I hope you will get some good ones!
DeleteOh yes, 'dear' is sometimes a nasty threat and needs to be recognised as such! Nice of you to move the trash for Miriam....
Have a great day, take care, and I hope tags will soon be reaching you in Canada from all quarters of the earth! Hugs! xxxxxxx
That is a great take on light today. I really like it. And the quote is so true. Plus what a great variety of tags. I like your take on Valentine's Day. And those raindrops do have a golden glow for certain. Have a super start to the new week and I hope it's not too too busy. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, I like this one, too. I don't often see golden raindrops, either! Have a great week, hugs!

DeleteHi Valerie, you are a busy lady and such great results. The funny with the cat is brilliant, it was obviously well trained. Have a lovely week. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela! Cats are sometimes funny. In winter I used to have a red strip of carpet in the hallway which absorbed water and dirt from snow etc. Kitty used to balance along the side to get past it, and sometimes even hissed at it. I never knew why it disturbed her!
DeleteLove your tag and it's been a great theme Valerie. Hugs Pinky
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Pinky, hugs!
Deletethis picture with old lady is hilarious:D
ReplyDeleteYou really mastered the challenge of light. I love that. The cat/door piece just cracks me up. That cat looks as smart as Lizzie!
ReplyDeleteI loved that one, too. Hugs!
DeleteYour tags are stunning. Just beautiful. and you are doing a fabulous job with Vicki's light theme at AJJ. I can't seem to come up with anything.
ReplyDeleteLOVED the cat in the escape door. I'm still laughing about that one.
My cat always wanted to use the window to go out onto the balcony. Even when the door was wide open, she sat and mewed loud till I opened the window....Hugs!
DeleteHow thrilling it must have been to reveal that frieze when the layer of plaster was removed. Imagine the joy on the faces of the excavators. A fabulous example for the theme at AJJ and made even more so with the wonderful Plato quote.
ReplyDeleteGreat funnies too.

Hi Valerie, your Romance Tags have all been awesome, sorry for the delay in commenting. I've had 2 lots of great grandchildren stay over for their half term, First 2 boys, then after they went home, my great grandaughter was here for 5 days. She loves to craft (aged 9 ) but hinders my crafting with all her questions. Of course I don't mind, I love to see any child be creative. Now I am resting up for a few days, lol. Hope you are managing, better days with better weather are on it's way, dark mornings and evenings will soon be gone. Blog post all done for tonight. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteWow what a fabulous image - what a find! Beautiful tags , I don't seem to be catching up very well after having flu. Hugs, Chrisx
