Monday Post / TsfT

Hi Everybody!

I took some time out over the weekend and just did things I like, such as painting, crafting, and lots of reading - wonderful. And on Saturday I went for a meal with Heike, and I was so hungry I didn't take any photos, sorry! I had  a sort of brunch - fried eggs, sunny side up, fried potatoes with bacon and onions, and a delicious mixed salad. And of course a giant cup of cappuccino to round things off. Heike had spinach, potatoes and scrambled eggs, which also looked great. So we enjoyed our  trip into our little town.

Today I have another piece for Vicki's  'keeping it light' theme at AJJ. In case you are wondering, it's a sort of abstract vase of flowers - A3 with acrylics. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I used lots of yellow, the colour of light ,and blues, greens and pinks for the flowers and sky, all added using a brayer!  I added the extra flowers using my little flower stamp. It was the first stamp I ever had, back in the distant past when the world was still young and fresh... I stamped the flowers with black ink and added yellow dots when it was dry!

And I have some funnies / thinkies and lots of coffee for you, as this evening we will start celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party. Here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit here. Even the cat is getting a drink!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. Glad you took time out for you to do the things you love Valerie we all need those gentle days to feed our soul. Your abstract too is a gentle reminder of how we can use so little product but produce so much. I see pops of floral in those brayer marks. You have me thinking of the first stamp I every owned now I will be thinking about that all day..

  5. Well, I am very pleased that you had a calm, relaxing weekend, Valerie, including heavenly hash with Heike, in a revered restaurant by the Rhine, with beer from a bottle to satisfy your salivary susceptibility. We had home made pizza last night and that was damn good. We had been out birding and picked up a bottle of wine to go with it. I swear that some invisible force took control of my hands on the steering wheel and made me turn into the wine store. It’s amazing how that happens - a couple of times a week too! It’s best not to resist as trying to suddenly wrench the wheel in an opposite direction might cause a crash. I go with the flow. Now I have to get ready to go birding again; this time the lovely Lisa is picking us up. No wine today though but Lisa will bring great snacks for the end of the walk. She always does. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Thanks David, we enjoyed our little trip into town. Your Pizza was surely good, too, and the wine to wash it down sounds great I know what you mean, I suddenly get pulled by some magical gravity into places where they sell cappuccino, really unbelievable, huh? I'm sure you will enjoy your birding today, and hope that the lovely Lisa feeds you with delectable snacks after the long walk! Have a chirpy day, hugs xxxxxxxx

  7. I love that new page for Vicki's AJJ challenge, and I'm so glad you mentioned how yellow is the color of light because this weekend I made a yellow page and was wondering how to use it for AJJ. Thank you for that insight. :) I love seeing those bright colors and the flowers look great. I also had to laugh at the meme with the cat and the snake. The cat I had named Leo once brought a snake into the house, alive, and I am NOT a fan of snakes. You can image how that went over-ha-ha! And your brunch sounds delicious. We had a similar meal for supper last night (Sunday) using up some left overs and throwing in some eggs. It always works. Have a super start to this new week Valerie. hugs-Erika

    1. Thanks Erika! I am looking forward to seeing your yyellow page. My cat sometimes brought in things like frogs or mice, thank goodness we don't have snakes here! I would have screamed, too! My dog also sometimes brought nastsies in, but at least they were dead and decayed!
Meals like that brunch are always great, quick, cheap and easy!! Hugs!

  8. How fun to go out to brunch with your friend. Sometimes, you're just too busy being in the moment to take pictures of the food. Your abstract vase of flowers is beautiful. The colors are so cheerful and full of hope to banish the blahs of the cold weather. At least the sun is out today. Happy T Day

  10. I can see the outline of a vase, so this abstract works for me. I can do without animals in the house, esp. cats that claw the curtains. Bah!

  11. I must mention your funnies first of all, what a lovely smile I got from viewing. I love the cat bringing a gift for his human and the various positions of the dog. The thinkies are great too! Love the portrait obviously.
Your brayered background is full or colour, a riot of colour in fact and I love it. Great idea to do the little flowers black and inspired to do them dotty.
Sorry I am not joining in at the moment, my leg is a mess and I need it up the whole time possible.

  15. That flower stamp is really cute, Valerie! They don't make them anymore like that, unfortunately.
Your cat memes always crack me up - I love the cat with the snake s/he caught. I'm not sure I would be overly joyed if Kibeau comes home with a snake between his teeth - depends on the snake, I guess. A garter snake might be okay (but only outside!), but a rattler - not so much. I hope this week you can enjoy more cappuccinos and good times with Heike. Happy T day! Hugs - Carola

  18. The most popular brunch spot/diner in our town just shut down after generations of feeding the locals (it was open from 1956-2023). So I don’t know where I would go for a delicious meal like you wrote about. Sounds like a treat!
