Hi Everybody!
It's almost weekend, we're nearly there!
Today I have a piece meant for various challenges - Vicki's 'light' challenge, Nicole's FFO, my Tag Tuesday and Gillena's AFFF.
The first piece was made using the c ontrast between light and dark. The lace handkerchief is very ancient, andx I took a photos of it on some natural linene. The face is part of a face drawing I made which I managed to put onto the handkerchief. The bird, embellishments and text were added digitally:
Some more faces painted by me:
One of my Valentines:
And some thinkies / funnies:
Another of my Valentines:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Beautiful piece Valerie, the handkerchief is gorgeous, and I remember as a carer and elderly client was once a lady's maid and the nanny taught her how to do tatting and she gave me quite a few pieces.... those painted faces are fabulous too..
ReplyDeleteHaveba wonderful weekend

DeleteThat old lace handkerchief really makes some love background texture, especially when you digitally add your other elements. It's a great page, and I like those digital additions. Your latest page is a great addition for Vicki's challenge. And I remember those faces. I think you made them when my AJJ themes was Seeing red. I hope you have had a great week so far and have a super weekend too. Enjoy. hugs-Erika

DeleteYou have certainly created some interesting (and bold) faces, Valerie, and they are always pleasing. Let loose, you have a mind that really knows how to wander! In the process you provide stimulation for all of us. I know that today you will be going back to the clinic so I would imagine that your own face is showing a range of emotions; relief at the prospect of being well taken care of, sadness in the recognition that you need to go there again. I will be thinking of you. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteI am now settled in, everything okay! My mind always wanders and wonders...Hugs!

DeleteHi Valerie, more brilliant art work! I'm loving those faces. I love the funnies of the cats looking for somewhere to live. My sister-in-law moved into a new house recently and it was ages before she found out who their cat visitor belonged to, he has breakfast at one house, lunch at another and so on. Take care and have a good weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and creative way to preserve a treasured hankie. Enjoy your weekend

ReplyDeleteWonderful artwork!!! ~Ed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed, enjoy your weekend! Hugs!
DeleteThe old lace in the handkerchief makes a beautiful component of your art piece. I wonder if I should do something with all my old handkerchiefs (mainly ones that belonged to my mother) instead of just leaving them in a drawer.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you need to be in the clinic again, but they do seem to take good care of you. I hope your convalesence or treatment is successful.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae, it's a pity to leave such lovely things in the drawer. The clinic is a good place to be. Have a great weekend!
DeleteI adore your latest piece Valerie. You really do have the eye of an artist. I love the way you have used the natural pieces on the handkerchief to add the various elements like the jewels and the bird to enhance your portrait. It really is a beautiful piece of art.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed all of this post, your red period, the funnies and your valentine pieces.
Take care

DeleteYou definitely have the eye of an artist and this latest piece is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you have used the various elements on the handkerchief to bring in all the elements of a portrait and the additional pieces, eg beads. bird and sun which add to the overall appearance of the whole piece.
ReplyDeleteFab ladies in red and some great funnies. Sorry you are not well but hope the clinic helps you back on the road to wellness.
